Went for afternoon tea treat.  The staff were helpful. Service was good.  The lounge  enjoyed stunning views across the golf course and out over Troon Bay to the sea.  Plenty of parking space, with wheelchair accessibility.

Outstanding staff, excellent hospitality.  Room clean but dated and with cracked wash basin! WiFi rarely worked in bedroom.  Threadbare carpet on main stairs shabby. All in all dated but welcoming and relaxing.

On Sunday the 25/03/18 I had an afternoon tea at the marine hotel. It was very disappointing compared to other afternoon teas I have had. The sandwich/cake stand was brought with sandwiches that were like doorsteps! We then waited 15 mins for our tea and then had to ask for it. After this experience I was not expecting a lot from an overnight stay which was booked for 29/03/18. The hotel on the Thursday evening was very busy, we went to the restuarant and waited for half an hour to receive our starter.We then received complimentary drinks to compensate for this. Our breakfast was good. But there had been a commotion before we arrived due to their not being enough tables ready for everyone coming down to breakfast. The hotel is also dated. I felt very sorry for the staff working here as they were the ones taking the complaints from the customers. I am saddened to write this review, as living in Ayrshire I like to support local businesses. Whoever is in charge of this hotel needs to get their act together and get this hotel sorted out, at least getting the staff organised and knowing what they are doing would be a starting point!

Been here a few times. Nice hotel with a great pool although  this time it was full of kids at a swimming lesson. Truin restaurant is fantastic, quality of the food is that of a high end hotel. However the breakfast was the complete opposite, very disappointing, poor choice and unprofessional feeling about it, hence only four stars.

Stunning building, great views but some annoyances like how thin the walls and ceilings are (rm3 you can hear the upstairs toilet). Also all the doors slam very loudly. Generally more up keep also needed.
