It has a faulty towers feel to it. Issue with room not having been cleaned on arrival with previous guests rubbish still in the room. Resolved by being moved room although the 1st room was bigger and more expensive. Place does look tired in places, but we weren't expecting to be staying at the Ritz. Staff are fantastic, and hotels downfall can be forgiven due to the efforts of the hard-working girls at reception and at breakfast this morning. Number of items unavailable at breakfast, including beans and potato scones. Bed was comfortable. Accommodation in the area is limited. At £100 for the night, it seemed a bit steep.
The hotel is in a nice location. The rooms are spartan and would benefit from simple updates: lightbulbs in the wall lamps, fresh paint, extenders for wifi, etc. Breakfast was included and it was good.
Very tired and in need of freshening up. A complete revamp.nNice breakfast. Good service. Come on bring yourself into the new world
The WORST hotel. No breakfast available before 9.30. No room cleaning. Bar never open. Didn’t see one member of staff for 3 days. A disgrace.
I have stayed in 100s of hotels both for work and holidays, but this is the worst of them all. If there was a rating below 1 star I would have ticked that. Shockingly terrible.nThere was no Internet. Mobile network struggled. The carpets were dated, dirty and sticky. It looked like it was built hundreds of years ago and no improvement or modernization done since then. Beds were terrible. I woke up with pains on my back, waist and neck after just one night. Food was tasteless and badly cooked. Service intolerable, they said they lacked staff. Loud noise coming from the heating system that kept me up all night.
