So finally got to this Bristol institution and its just a proper pub. Staff were great, customers were an assortment with characters aplenty. Don't be put off by the wall benches outside, just push through the doors grab a very reasonably priced drink and enjoy.
absolutely cracking pub, up there with one of my favourite establishments in Bristol. the atmosphere is unmatched - if you want a proper locals pub at great prices then this is your place £2.70 for a tribute. Paulo is the loveliest landlord and makes the Mardyke feel like home.
I use the Mardyke as an easy to find location. Friendly bar staff interesting locals and plenty of tables to talk over. Good priced beer
The Mardyke is our absolute favourite pub in Bristol... Super cheap drinks, mad vibes and the greatest staff. Paulo the manager is the sickest and always up for a laugh or a boogie to Britney spears. Much much love for the mardyke
Took our visitors to this pub - one of our many visits. Lively pub, great vibe, friendly staff, well kept reasonably priced real ales. Lean against one of the oldest post boxes in Bristol!! They loved it.

It’s the best pub in Bristol!!! very nice host !! - the beer prices are fair and on Sundays there are snacks for free! - I'll definitely be back!!!
Best place in Hotwells, if not all of Bristol. Amazing atmosphere, Paulo is such a good host I’d recommend it to anyone.
Great pub. Great atmosphere. Paulo makes the night, a great bar man who is set on making everyone’s night. Cheap pints, a must go!
