Great food and very reasonable prices, always popular. Tables close together and only artificial light in the main restaurant, which I find rather claustrophobic. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

A great English pub with great home cooked food. A shame the young barman today (27 Feb 18) who brought down the tone with his foul-mouthed chatter and his unfounded cockiness, unlike his colleagues, who were excellent. If I'd been the owner or manager I would have sacked him on the spot. He needs to learn respect for his colleagues and particularly for the clientele, and learn which type of language is acceptable in a public place and which should be used by those who serve the public. He acted like a spoilt schoolboy.

Prebooked a table here for a meal with the family and children. When we got there we was in the conservatory area, we had 1 side and the opposite side was reserved for a party due in 3 hrs later one of our party members was ordering a drink and overheard The bar staff slagging off our family. The children were being normal children sat on the floor playing with cars, 10 minutes later the rude, arrogant owner came to us without warning and asked us to leave with a refund. The kids were all hungry and upset that we couldn't have our tea in the pub..... We will be spreading the word on how bad and unwelcoming this place is😠😠😠
