Beefeater opened their doors back in 1974, and were driven by a passion for glorious steak. Mouth-watering cuts at mouth-watering prices was their motto. Reassuringly nothing's changed, these things still drive them today and they always will.

Staff are always brilliant but the menu is not as good as it used to be before the refurbishment. Has been replaced as my favourite steakhouse by Dexters at Brigg. Sorry but they took my favourite wine AND sweet away. Update April 2018 Food has definitely gone down and prices have gone up. I used to regularly have rump steak. It came with a lovely side salad - I had one last week, a small scrap of something limp with green leaves was MY salad. It was just steak and chips really. Not impressed at all. It's a bit better than pub grub but about 3 or 4 times the price.

This place has really gone downhill fast! We have visited many times for a meal, an alcoholic beverage or even popped just for a coffee! We loved the place but most of all the friendly atmosphere. Sadly it seems customer service is no longer a priority! On our last visit we were stood at the front desk waiting to be seated for almost 10 minutes! Many members of staff walked passed us and used the till facing us but we weren't even acknowledged! Eventually we were taken to a table by a lady who we have seen many times but obviously doesn't get paid to smile! Evie was our server, she was extremely smiley and moved us to a larger table as it wasn't busy and she thought it would be nicer to be sat elsewhere. She took our order and I must say the meal was quick and lovely! In my opinion, Evie saved the day, we were set to walk out on arrival, stood with no acknowledgement for far too long, 'greeted' (I use the term loosely) by Mona Lisa! Evie's smiley face and 'nothing is too much trouble" attitude, made our evening, she tempted us with dessert and even informed us that her shift was over and she would be leaving! I think all your members of staff need to take a leaf out of Evie's book!

This place has really had a revamp for the better. Used to go with the family if 6 regular but then it got all silly prices. Also used to go for breakfast until one day the bacon was hardly cooked. Have it another try after about 8 months and it's really nice. Family friendly proceed again and the breakfasts are spot on. Excellent for a test for the whole family as under 14yr eat free at breakfast.

Burnt burgers and buns sent back. Watch out for refill cokes. Pepsi max refillable but not the sugary cokes. Food expensive. Fortunately had vouchers to make it a lower price. Children have to play outside as there is no play area. Staff very good though.

Staff was friendly and helpful the service was quick even on a very busy evening. The steaks or burgers are always great on many visits to this Beefeater. Breakfasts are also great value with the kids eat free offer.
