It's a mixed bag this one, the food was extremely good, the service was hit-and-miss, unfortunately the place just lacks atmosphere. The choice of wine is very limited, luckily the Californian Merlot on offer isn't bad and is very reasonably priced. We had steak which we asked for rare, it was delicious, and cooked perfectly. We also had the fish and chips which was also very good; lovely crispy batter on a good size tasty piece of fish. We might have had a dessert if we had been asked if we would like one! The waitress took our plates without asking if we would like anything else.

Great friendly pub with fantastic food. Carvery is super and other choice meals also great and home cooked including the awesome puddings. Always worth a visit.

Went today for carvery, absolutely fantastic. I've been told it was good but it was outstanding. Fresh, home cooked food, plenty of vegetables to choose from, roast and mash potatoes and large portions of meat! The gravy was to die for! We didn't have dessert but they looked amazing. Will definitely be back with friends in the future. Can't recommend this place enough, definitely the best in the area!
