Welcome to Cambridge's friendliest venue. Our 9 fully licensed auditoria provide the ideal setting to see latest films and live theatre events.

Story

A 9 screen all digital cinema close to a great selection of restaurants and bowling located in the heart of Cambridge.

At The Light we cover all of your movie-going needs, showing the latest blockbusters, independent film, and bring back classics for to either revisit or experience for the first time on the big screen.

We also offer a range of event cinema in our Light Arts programme that featues ballet, opera and theatre, plus music, sport too!

You can kick back and enjoy a wide selection of hot drinks, plus an extensive collection of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails in our cafe bar. All of our screens are fully licenced so you can enjoy a drink whist sat in our luxury seating.

The Light is a champion of accessible cinema and provide a wide range of screenings so everybody can enjoy a day at the movies. Our programme includes subtitled, autism friendly, audio described, baby friendy and dementia friendly films!

Their baby-friendly screening made my day. The staff were lovely, helpful and accommodating, and made me and my 3-month-old feel welcome. Sure, the seats may be a bit dated but I spent very little time sitting down anyway :D It's the people that matter, and we'll definitely be back for more BF screenings soon!
We had a shocking experience at the light cinema in Cambridge. Two young women were talking, shouting, talking on the phone and laughing all the way through the film we went to see. Despite us repeatedly telling them to be quiet and us informing the cinema staff on multiple occasions, nothing was done.nnWe therefore had to leave the film early. We requested a refund and were informed as we booked online this is not possible. Despite the staff doing nothing to resolve the issue so we didn’t need to request a refund, they were also totally unhelpful about what we can do.nnThis is a completely unacceptable service. The cinema is already extraordinarily expensive, so to pay this level of ticket price and receive essentially no customer care is ridiculous. If you can’t refund us you should at least offer a voucher or some tickets to the next showing of the film. Avoid as there are much better cinemas in Cambridge.
Visuals perfectly fine.nSound perfectly fine.nnThs issue however is in the pictures, the place needs TLC. Very disturbing to see holes in seats. Begs the question.... Do they care about customer experience?!nnVisited today 17/08/24 to see Alien and whilst the staff were very friendly and extremely welcoming the seating is still disgusting. We spend so much more time in the seats it needs to be better. It's the only thing stopping me buying a monthly subscription as the rest of the experience is SO BLOODY GOOD!
Went to see Deadpool and Wolverine on 31/08/2024. Entrance is what you expect for most cinemas and the staff who served me were excellent.nnThe let down was the condition of the seating in the screen. Many of the seats were out of action due to tears in the fabric. My seat screen 8, H14 had both armrests falling apart.nnI don't think I will be visiting again until the seating has been repaired/replaced. Such a shame as I have normally had pleasant experiences at this venue.
A solid four; nothing especially unique or awesome, just a big and comfortable movie theater.nOur place to go for some movie-watching and popcorning is Vue Cinema since they have recliners and are located more conveniently but it was next to impossible to book tickets this Saturday Barbie is popular so we decided to try the Light.nIt’s genuinely nice, clean, spacious but maybe slightly more expensive than one could expect.
