The Leadmill is a historic music venue in Sheffield. A mid sized venue, it has played host to a lot of up and coming bands that have gone on to bigger things, sometimes selling out arenas or headlining festivals such as Coldplay, the Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and Pulp. Because of the side of the venue, it provides an almost intimate chance to watch live music, but when it gets going, it can be absolutely electric. As a nightclub, the nights there can be fantastic and drinks are reasonably priced. It is handily located less than a 10 minute walk from both Sheffield bus and rail stations. Would definitely recommend both for a club night and for live music, not forgetting, it is now also hosting more stand up comedy too as an added bonus!

An excellent small entertainment venue on leadmill road in Sheffield. Popular with the local student community, locals and visitors. Went there with friends to see the band British Sea Power and had a super night out. The place itself is divided into three sections each with it's own bar,it was pretty busy on the night but we had no trouble getting served and I found all the staff very friendly and helpful,the price of the drinks are very reasonable as well. It's also has a good clean and well maintained restrooms. The venue's not large enough to get lost in, but can hold enough people to create a great atmosphere. If you enjoy live music you'll really enjoy this venue,i found the acoustics pretty good too!. It discribes itself as a legendary nightclub,arts ,comedy,theatre,film,and live music venue which i think is a fair description,and so has a lot to offer. Has some music history attached to it being a spring board for a lot of up and coming bands over the year's Pulp being just one of many,it's been open since 1980. We drove into the city parked up at nunnery square and rode the tram into the city centre,had a bite to eat (lots of places to eat) had a drink in a local pub then onto the Leadmill which was easy to find. I've not been here when it's in nightclub mode,they have resident DJs. If you enjoy live music here's a place to get up front and personal. An absolutely brilliant place for a night out recommended!

One star due to the "security" staff who were massively rude, heavy-handed for absolutely no reason whatsoever and totally out of order - refused to give their names on request as well. Shame as it's a great venue and have had some excellent nights here seeing comedians, bands and visiting the nightclub.

The staff were polite freindly the place was clean and all ways cleaned the atmosphere was ace no trouble all night felt very safe
