Loved the Lawn Rooms - our room was spacious and nicely furnished with a huge bed. Helpful staff, free parking and great location. Dog friendly too - included a dog bed and treats!Rooms: 5/5

One of the worst ‘hotel’ experiences ever - avoid! They are refurbishing their rooms and yet still trying to charge prices for a 4* hotel, when the rooms are closer to a 2* experience. We were supposedly given the ‘best room’ in the hotel because we had just gotten married which consisted of a small, dreary room with twin beds pushed together! Not even a double bed! Would have been helpful for them to have perhaps mentioned. Despite calling 4-5 times to confirm arrangements they apparently didn’t have the right ‘notes’. There is no proper reception and our other guests found the whole checking in/ out experience disorganised and all over the place. This was probably one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had and I can’t believe how overpriced the rooms are for what they are.
Spent two nights in the Lawns Hotel for our anniversary. The room was large, and reasonably well furnished and clean. The on suite bathroom was large with a bath and bath tap shower but no screen or curtain to contain the spray if you preferred a shower. The room was on the top floor which was accessed via two very narrow staircases which made carrying the case to the room a bit of a task. The food was well cooked and we'll presented but there was a very limited dinner menu. The breakfast was good with a better choice than the dinner menu. The hotel has a car park that fills up quickly, so a space cannot be guaranteed. Our experience was that other carpark users took up a lot of room leaving an already small car park bereft of enough room for other users not to he hotels fault. The staff were friendly and helpful. In all, a nice hotel for a short stay.
We came here as a group of four for evening drinks - wonderful hospitality and ambiance. We also over the same weekend came for Sunday lunch - excellent food and service. The best three course meal we have had in a very long time. Highly recommend you visit The Lawns if you are in Holt.
Stayed for two nights. Our room 8 was nice. Knew beforehand there was no standing shower but it would still be good to fit a screen at least as washing was tricky! Staff were all friendly. Breakfast was good, nice portions to set you up for the day. Would recommend to anybody looking for a base to explore north Norfolk.
Great location and rooms are spacious and nice. Breakfast served at 8am which is inconvenient for most business people but they are helpful if you ask for cereal and milk the night before. They have an iron board and iron and shoe polish etc so quite useful serviceRooms: 5/5
Brilliant food. Have eaten here twice now and the food has been absolutely delicious both times. The vegetarian burger is one of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend.Service: 5/5
Great place to stay in North Norfolk. We stayed in room 8 a large comfortable room with large bathroom. Breakfast excellent with a wide variety on the menu. We ate in the restaurants a number of times during our 6 night stay and the food was superb. Staff very welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend The Lawns
Definitely not what is advertised. The website is far more 4 star than the hotel. It has the opportunity to really make something of itself but it leaves a lot to be desired at the moment. Food was nice and the rooms o.k. Shame I couldn't say any better but we've stayed in better Premier Inn's. Even the kids asked if it was the same hotel that we saw on the website!!! I received a feedback request prior to any posting so gave it quite politely but have heard nothing back, so here's my post.
