I live nearby and this is my favourite pub in the area. Fantastic food in a beautiful village setting. I’m not a big drinker, but all the friends I’ve brought here have enjoyed what was on offer. I especially love the fish and chips.
A very pleasant stay and would love to come back again! We arrived late and were warmly welcomed on a chilly night. Our room was above the pub and there was a buzz until around 10:30pm, but afterwards the inn is very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Wish we stayed longer to explore the area, but maybe another time!
Fantastic choice to dine in with super service t details from time we arrived to time we left. One of us was vegetarian so we were really happy that the menu had a great choice! Food was absolutely delicious and has left some tantalising reviews in our hearts!! Being a chef myself, I always look for fresh flavours and a meaningfully nourished presented plate of food! This is exactly what we got from every meal we had here with a great wine paired and the cherry on cake was the perfect fire place sitting location. We will definitely return here and highly recommend it to everyone
Great meal at the Kings Head on a Friday night. Pre-booked and popped in on the way back to our air b&b in Bourton after a trip out. As it was Friday there were plenty of locals enjoying a beer too. All really friendly. We'd arrived a little early and the staff kindly encouraged us to stay in the bar as long as we wanted as the restaurant would be quiet when we went in at 6pm. Felt really welcome. Food was excellent and service was great. Definitely coming back. Food & drinks: Amazing!
Review for the pub Service wasn’t super great. One waitress didn’t know much about the menu and the other was robotic and not very knowledgeable in terms of guest experience. We ordered the clams linguini... They need to really redefine that dish. The atmosphere was good especially in the main area near the bar.
The quality of the food was, as always, good. To have dogs sitting at restaurant tables with paws and snouts on the table was a negative . The animals kept making a nuisance of themselves paying an unhealthy interest on the food on our table. The proprietor seemed to think this was acceptable as did the dog owners. We and others did not agree.
My wife and I enjoyed a very nice meal at The Kings Head, a short walk from our Airbnb in Bledington. The pub is oozing with character and was almost full on a Wednesday night, which is always a good sign. We shared the salt and pepper squid to start; my wife then had fish and chips for main and I ordered the steak and kidney pie. Everything was generously portioned, delicious and served piping hot. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said for our chocolate fondant dessert, which was nice and oozy but lukewarm at best. Service was very good on the whole, although we did have to remind the staff of our food order after one of the waitresses wrote ‘fish pie’ on her notepad, even though there wasn’t a fish pie on the menu. None of this would stop us visiting again, but it isn’t the cheapest, so we could only afford to eat at the pub on one of our three nights.
Stopped whilst on a long walk and what a great little pub. Super friendly staff and a great range of drinks, snacks and food. Very welcoming and I certainly recommend.
Lovely food and drink. Nice, busy atmosphere. Comfy room but was on the cold side - had to turn on the radiator when we arrived and it didn't come on again in the morning till 8. Evenso, overall very nice and will come and stay again.Rooms: 4/5
Placed near dogs for food. Unhygienic and disgusting. Sat near noisy children. Parents need to control their own children. As a food critic, very average, bland taste and tastelessService: 2/5
