We got lost on the motorbike and luckily went past this little gem so pulled in for a pit stop. Was welcomed as soon as we walked into the pub garden and asked what we wanted to drink as we sat down on the bench. Had a lovely pint and some really nice food i had whitebait and fish and chips. Service by all the staff was spot on while we enjoyed our food in the nice relaxing environment. The owners have done a great job making the place look great. Would recommend if you are in the area. Thanks
most amazing birthday lunch for my boyfriend this friday - ordered the loin of venison which was delicious and cooked absolutely perfectly genuinely the nicest we have had in the cotswolds! we also ordered the burger which was so yummy. desserts were incredible too: we had the chocolate torte and sticky toffee which were so so tasty - massive compliments to the chef! i was so so suprised at the wide and extensive range of alcohol free cocktails - ive never seen that many offered at one place before! staff were soooo friendly, service is unmatched and food was quick out. perfect atmosphere even though it was quiet. couldnt recommend enough!! thank you!!
Excellent lunch at this gorgeous little establishment. Indoor & outdoor dining available. All COVID safe. Delicious seasonal menu choices and all freshly cooked & presented. Great place for folks of all ages and child & dog friendly too. Many thanks to all staff. 10/10
A really lovely cosy family run pub with a great menu and great food found on our way back from Oxford to Bath. The best mulled wine of 2022, chargrilled Gurnard was super fresh, boned for us at the table by Tom and really delicious.. treacle tart everything the menu said it would be. Everything beautifully plated and presented by genuinely friendly staff. Easily 5 stars
Absolutely love this pub. The staff are lovely and food tasty with plenty of selection, just wish it was closer to home!
Wonderful Saturday evening meal for 3 of us. Starters - delicious …… whitebait, calamari and burrata. Mains - also delicious….venison, hake and sea bass. perfectly cooked and filleted by chef Tom We even had room for puddings. All perfectly presented and yummy. Perfect evening in front of the fire, friendly staff and I almost forgot a delicious gin and tonic when we first arrived. Would definitely recommend everything …… the food, ambiance as well as the gin and tonics!
Super dog friendly local pub with lovely staff! We were here on a Chargrill Thursday when they had a great menu of grilled fish and meats as well as pub classics
Went for our first meal out since lockdowns as was so pleased to see they have a marquee with heaters in the garden blankets provided too. I wish I could give more stars as both the hosting and the food were beyond amazing, we felt very welcomed. The poached halibut with wild garlic gnocchi is one of best meal I ever had, but all of our dishes were delicious. The quality & presentation is fine dining, luckily the price is not. Can't wait to return, wish we lived closer.
We visited the Carpenters Arms, near Burford, for lunch. The landlord was friendly and the food was perfect. My wife had a whole sole and I had moules mariniere, both excellent. Our dog also enjoyed the dog biscuits she was offered. Recommended. 13th April: We just had lunch here again.....Same high quality, creative food, and the same friendly service. I notice that they have regular "tasting meal" evenings ...next in June and 28th July.
Food and service excellent The menu offered appetising starters and a good choice of mains. We tried three starters and each one was a brilliant combination of ingredients The mains were also cooked superbly and offered a range of tastes. The sweets were similarly intriguing If it were closer it would be a regular place to enjoy an excellent meal
