A very pleasant pub with attentive friendly staff. Terrific fireplace really added to the atmosphere. Had Sunday Lunch - was excellent although the ‘Soft Goats Cheese Salad, was not good value at all with a pitiful amount of cheese leaving just the after taste of sharp red onion. The Crab on Sourdough, Roast Beef Sirloin & Lamb were prepared to perfection. Excellent selection of well kept Cask Ales. Not a cheap experience but overall a delightful one - we will definitely be back
What am unexpected find! Beautiful little country pub, lovely food. The landlord was awesome and very accomodating for a walk in on a Sunday lunchtime. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our short visit. Would definitely come back again. Several vegetarian options which was great for us. Thank you.
Passing through the area, stopped in for dinner it was absolutely delicious! All the food was exceptional with wide range of food vegan/meat/fish choices to cater for all! The waitress was very well mannered and helpful throughout the evening was very impressed! If your looking for a nice local pub for great food and drink but most importantly a great homely atmosphere the you have found it. Thanks to Guy and his amazing team really well done!
We arrived late and our host let the whole dining room know, I was so embarrassed. On the plus side we did get a table by a radiator as requested because mum really feels the cold. We were there for a birthday meal and the service was average, we had to wait ages to get our order in. When the food arrived we were all disappointed: the fish dish came with different vegetables to the menu, the pasta dishes were bland but at least the beef roast was decent. To their credit they offered mum a free drink, but what they offered was not to mum's liking so we got an alcoholic coffee floater. We had to pay for the coffee, only the booze was free! The desserts were not great. I didn't have dessert but those who did said they were not great. Finally, we got the bill and it was way more than any of us expected. The men's loos were clean, there was a lovely log fire burning away which gave a great atmosphere. The pub was clean and is well laid out. The menu was on the wall and promotional pamphlets were on the table, which meant at least 3 of us out of 5 having to answer queries about the menu. I took a photo so anyone could see what was available. A simple paper menu would have been great. In summary: overpriced and underwhelmed. I won't be going back
The sharing steak is a thing of beauty! The red wine is as warm and comforting as the perfect welcome. Lovely pub, great atmosphere
Amazing and cosy pub! Staff could not have been more lovely and accommodating. The food was sensational and they went above and beyond to check in on us for food and drinks Highly highly recommended
A cosy traditional family run pub. Excellent service and friendly welcoming staff. The food is absolutely exceptional! It's definitely worth a visit!
Despite being a little off the beaten track it's well worth making the effort to call in to the Plough for a bite to eat. The roaring open fire, great food and friendly/helpful staff made for a lovely evening.
Food, service and atmosphere were all brilliant. Highly recommend coming here for food or drink by the cosy fire. Will definitely come back if we are in the area again.
Super Boozer! Lovely find in the depths of Oxfordshire. Just what you want for a proper English pub with great food, ambience and staff. Fantastic value special menu as well. Can’t fault it
