This place is very keen to dissociate from the term 'gastropub', and steers clear of anything resembling Nouvelle Cuisine. However, great pride is taken in sourcing and preparing the food, which showed in the roasts which were excellent. Amazing views over the Surrey hills and efficient staff. Take care if you need to park as the locals don't appreciate you using the road; there is a layby at the bottom of the hill which they recommend.

This is a little querky purched high up off the main road, stopped off for lunch and found it very busy. There was a 45 minute wait for food but still waited as we thought it was going to be worth it? Sandwiches were average but the atmosphere was good. I concluded that the pub was very busy because there is no competition around.

We were a group of friends and family looking forward to a warm welcome and lunch. On arrival we discovered a mix up with our table which happens but we had called 1 hour earlier to check and it was booked weeks ago these things happen... but the staff were rude and extremely unhelpful. We will not be recommending ☹

All good, great food, cosy atmosphere, nice people. Parking interesting ... I won't say anymore :-)
