Like a hotel, except the rooms don't have TV, there's no bar or mini-bar, and there's a kitchen on each corridor. There is a lounge on the corridor which has a big TV, but its reception is very poor. The whole place is very clean and new. It is quiet and has good security, for some reason the bedrooms always make you wait a few seconds before unlocking! The en-suite bathrooms are good, although the shower hose leaks a bit. The kitchen is poorly equipped, with few saucepans and no tea towels.
Excellent accommodation. Stayed with my teenage son, for two nights.We both had a single ensuite room each. Utilitarian IKEA style. Lino, not carpet. Very clean and good value. Don't bother with the breakfast unless they have improved the quality of the bread!
Good uni accommodation. Close to the campus and a 20min walk to the town centre. Decent sized rooms. Ensuite bathrooms. Shared kitchen.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed in the "corporate" area .. eg not for students.. a private corridor with card key entry just across from the reception and overlooking the car park. The corridor has kitchen at one end, lounge at the other and 15 individual double rooms. Nice rooms and great power shower. Need keycard for your room and kitchen and lounge. No TV in room. TV in lounge had rubbishy reception and kitchen was a bit basic.. no tea towels to wash up so I used hand towel from my room. Overall it was very reasonable and an ok location if u have a car. WiFi is free but u need to create an account which takes a couple of minutes.. but you have to ask at reception as instructions were not in the welcome book in the room
We went down to a bit of work outside the building on the grounds and looking round we were impressed. If the inside is as nice it will be a lovely place for the students.
Heriot Watt is investing a lot more into facilities for students at it's School of Textiles and Design. The student village is clean, modern, attractively designed and has just had the Thread student union opened to provide a social space.
Was there to have drinks and food with friends. Food was good and reasonably priced. Atmosphere was nice for sitting, chatting and relaxing.
Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Good location and one of the cheapest lodgings in the area
Really clean rooms. Comfy beds. Decent internet. Friendly staff and very cheap.
Stayed here due to a family member being in border general hospital for 1 evening room was lovely and fresh
