The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is one of Europe’s most modern hospitals offering a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services including neurosurgery, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, vascular surgery and cancer services.

The accident and emergency department is the designated regional trauma centre for Teesside, South Durham and North Yorkshire and the hospital has a dedicated 24-hour acute admissions unit.

Just had a hip replacement at the hospital. More like staying in a hotel rather than a hospital. Staff friendly and very efficient from surgeon down to cleaners.
In and out in 24 hours and really well looked after. 
Too many people are too eager to denigrate our N H S but personal experience indicates that this hospital is at the top of its game.
Well done and any thanks to all the staff for looking after me so we'll.

Absolutely brilliant hospital staff doctors all fantastic my husband had neck surgery here best hospital we have ever been in clean you would think we payed private the way we were treated well done James Cooke

Suppose it was alright. Went to visit a relative and they were very helpful in providing me with information on how they were doing, what ward they had been moved to, what drugs they were being given, etc. Not much chairs in the wards, though.

Attended A& E  department at James Cook Hospital, on 1st November with my wife who is suffering with a very painful twisted knee. We were treated with very friendly and professional service throughout our visit. The receptionist was friendly and efficient, taking all the relevant information . The waiting room was quite busy with a steady stream of patients but we were seen by a sympathetic  doctor pretty quickly. In the X ray department, again we were treated with respectful good humour and were passed back to the doctor without any delay. The doctor diagnosed a problem with the cartilage in the knee and a very friendly nurse applied a splint to the leg/ knee.  The whole visit from start to finish took less than two hours. Full marks to all the staff! !!

So after months of being ignored, finding out that I've had chickenpox pneumonia ( which is apparently so rare it's unreal)... I then get a letter today 1 month out of date due to your indian mail centre) to tell me I have an abnormal liver function!!! Did the registrar, Dr Lee who obviously paid no attention, listen... I think the answer is no due to the tablets I was taking at the time,  i can't wait for appointment today as I'm going to town... And... as for my original issues can someone please tell me what is going on in the left side of my body??  You know, the ones I reported but Dr Lee wasn't listening... pissed off doesn't even cut it...
