Had one bad experience with Ivy years ago but I wanted to give it another try and I’m glad I did. The Bath branch was really nice! The staff was really friendly and caring. The Lady who served us was very nice and efficient too. The food was also delicious and generous. I recommend the lobster soufflé, the bread and the fish cakes. Will definitely come back again!
The prices are very high for what you get, there is a set menu but the options are very limited, especially when the blackened cod which must be popular is sold out. That being said it’s a nice place for a special occasion, with nice cocktails and good service.nnThe peanut satay skewers were very nice but the chicken Milanese was a bit bland and you need to pay £6 extra for a side! however the little birthday profiterole was very welcome and a nice touch.
Ivy experience away from London in October 25. It is never a good sign when the experience is ruined on just reaching the reception desk. Sadly this was what happened on our visit where the receptionist/ a lady with a hair in bun had such a foul and condescending attitude towards our party/.nIt was simply uncalled for and her behaviour and attitude not to the standard of usual Ivy London experience..nnHaving said above another lady receptionist , who greeted us on our return/ as we had to wait outdoors / has been wonderful and greeted us warmly for our booking at 4:30 for my husband’s 62nd birthday.nnThe server was lovely and friendly toonnThe atmosphere was good,nnThe servers and management seemed stressed, tired and a bit tense however our lady server was accommodating and pleasant.nFood arrived a bit late as we have spent more than anticipated for our late birthday lunch but maybe we are just more used to London 2 hour table limit.nnIn general good was lovely, do try aubergine , sea bass and arancini. Also chicken schnitzel.nAs a b’day treat do go for chocolate bombe, melted in front of your eyes. HeavennnIn all a good visit and 62nd birthday with the familynnIvy do remind reception to treat every customer without prejudice and accommodate families with teenagers. They will be your future customers!nnIt would’ve been a full star visit has it not been for very unpleasant initial encounter with a receptionist. Oh and our return she started laughing I. Front of us and putting her head in a male receptionist shoulder , bad mouthing a lively blonde receptionist who had actually tried to assist with our booking!nnThank you to our server a lovely manager who cleared our table and a birthday treat for my husband!
We had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at The Ivy in Bath. We started with a delicious crab appetizer and a flavorful duck salad, followed by a perfectly cooked chicken breast served in a rich truffle sauce and an outstanding steak in peppercorn sauce that simply melted in the mouth.nnFor dessert, we indulged in an incredible treat — ice cream enclosed in a chocolate bomb with a silky chocolate mousse, beautifully melted by hot caramel sauce poured over the top. It was divine!nnThe décor was stunning, the atmosphere was calm and elegant, making it the perfect place to celebrate special moments with loved ones. The service was excellent — attentive and professional without being intrusive.nnWe highly recommend The Ivy and will definitely return on our next visit to Bath!
We had the Sunday Roast, Black Cod and Truffle & Parmesan Fries, and were pleasantly surprised by how delicious and unpretentious everything was! Everything was also well priced considering the upscale look of the restaurant. Some servers were a little snooty, perhaps more noticeably since we’re Asian, but honestly it wasn’t the worst!
