A nice enough pub, but if you’re not a regular, you can be made to feel uncomfortable by the older males in the pub. The staff are all very friendly, but this is not the best for a younger crowd.

Nice place a good mix of ages. Fabulous hot chocolate as well as great cool drinks, with or without alcohol. Door staff polite chatty respectful when talking to patrons.

Yet another pub in loughton turned/turning into and twatty wine bar-esqe pub. One by one every real pub in loughton is disappearing. Such a shame. ADDITION: In response to Daniel's response I'd like to point out I said "wine bar-esqe" I did not say "wine bar". I was referring to the decor and feeling inside the pub and comparing it to what it was like around 2005. It is now too minimalist and modern and not in anyway like a proper pub. Its gone the way of many pubs in loughton and is no longer a pub-y pub.
