FAULTY ITEM AND NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE Faulty item and non-existent customer service from the online team. It seems the JD take over has really made a pig's ear of this judging by the rest of the recent reviews. We'll likely soon be flooded out with 5 star bot ratings, but until then, I'll be contacting Trading Standards with all the accumulated evidence.
Firstly I will say the store in Leeds and people who work there are great. Online however…. To say customer service experience was terrible would be an understatement. Ordered some trainers for overnight delivery. Was emailed saying there’s an issue with stock levels. Hip refunded me my delivery costs then went off the grid. No communication at all. I took it upon myself to order from elsewhere. The trainers from Hip finally arrived after so I decided to return them. Returned them through the process 3 weeks ago with no confirmation or any idea of what was going on. Finally found the telephone number for customer services where I have managed to get through to someone who told me they had the item but no refund has been made. Apparently they have processed it today and will take a further 3-5 working days. Who knows if I will get my money back?? I would recommend going to the store in Leeds. Buying online however…. Avoid it like the plague.
First purchase item was out of stock and got refunded straight away. Ordered more items three months later, was curious to know if I would receive both my items so rang customer service, spoke to a chap who was really helpful although he himself did not know what items I would actually receive. MIRACLE all of my items turned up. Can't moan about the service when there prices are so low.
Ordered a few items for a birthday present. Waited over three weeks and then they refunded my order saying the items weren’t in stock. Wouldn’t use again. I had previously ordered from Hip last December and had a great experience but it seems something has changed.
Great store, so many nice quality products. Came across the physical store by chance on a trip to Leeds, staff were friendly and could wander around quietly without being bothered. Ordered online a number of times too without problem.
Purchased an item online, the store took my payment. The following day I received an email informing me that the product was sold out and my order was cancelled. They promised me that I would be refunded in 2 - 3 days, however the refund wasn’t processed after two weeks. Had I failed to remembered to chase them it seems unlikely that I would have got my money back.
Ordered 3 items and only 2 arrived in the delivery. I contacted Hip asking that they send the missing item urgently as it was a Christmas present. Their response was that I make a claim against my credit card! I lodged a complaint and I got an email from them asking that I call them to discuss, which is did immediately. I was greeted with a message that they were not taking calls due to engineering work on the line and to call back in 5 minutes which would be 10.35. It was 17.15 when I called. The message made no sense. I emailed again and the response was that they will not be investigating this matter further! I wish I had looked at the reviews before ordering with this dishonest company. Matters are in the hands of trading standards.
Absolutely terrible service! If you order anything online JD deal with the online orders, and if you have to chase anything you have to go through JD. Brain dead hipster staff that don't care what money you've spent or what your query is, if you ordered online the HIP store don't deal with it. Staff need more knowledge training clearly don't know enough about what they are selling. Even though you technically think your ordering from HIP it's JD sports!!!! Terrible quality control on a pair of £120 new balance trainers. Sent back and ordered a new pair direct from New Balance and the quality difference is unquestionable. Please be warned unless your shopping direct in store don't bother ordering online!!! Sort your customer service and quality control out. And get someone to sharpen up your website to match the descriptions with your stock. Shocking all round.
This is a review of their online service only, not the store. Hip took my money for an online order, I then received an email 4 days later to say it was out of stock! I have just looked at their website and the item is still showing as in stock. Poor service that needs addressing. Hip, it's time to read and act on your reviews!
The store in Leeds is great, but online is absolutely terrible. Ordered a parcel and one of two items was missing. After many calls and emails with customer services I’ve been told they won’t be taking any further action meaning they have robbed me of my money and I have no item I’ve paid for. The customer service team has essentially called a regular customer a liar.
