This Museum is part of Fort George. Very interesting. Well laid out. Warm and friendly staff. Comes as part of your entrance fee. Stairs and lift access. Small shop on site selling a nice selection of items. I would recommend visiting while you are in Fort George
What a great place to visit! This little museum has everything about the regiment, from uniforms to medals, and even a bit of Hitler’s desk from his bunker in Berlin. It has some great interactive touch screens and informative posters. Staff are really nice to, definitely recommend!!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Fort George is a great visit, however if it is a cold day on the day you visit be sure to wrap up warmer as the fort lies on the coast and is a step colder. The site is home to active serving military personnel who you will see either on guard duty or doing their daily tasks. Two military policemen stopped to answer a question from my 7 year old son which made his day. Mostly the personnel are busy with their task but as pleasant. The museum paints vividly the picture of the British army in the region both past and present and it's a great learning experience. There's lots to see and take in. The cafe is great also and believe me when I say they are correct about their famous bacon rolls! Super tasty.
Wonderful place full of history.. unfortunately could not go up stair due to safety issues.. nevertheless very interesting and could go in certain outbuildings.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
A true "hidden" gem , featuring a variety of historical displays Centering around the military tradition of the black watch. My only comment would be that the museum is certainly geared towards those with an interest in the first and second world wars, with later conflicts receiving less coverage.
Mobility Friendly and lots of room for kids to run on lower level. I called ahead and they brought a motorized scooter out to the parking lot for my mother. The staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The history of this fort is long so plan on spending hours, or the day there. There is a cafe and also a restaurant. Its a beautiful drive out of the city and not as crowded as most attractions we visited.
This place is worth a visit. we took the guided tour and was worth it. since it is still being use and barracks, be careful not to be in someone's way. worth it for the views. free car park nearby
Great that it's still a working army and you can talk to the lads serving and listen to the practicing the pipes and bugels.
Excellent military museum with lots of information. Well worth a visit
Excellent collection of Regimental artifacts in a uniquely historic setting. Well worth visiting.
