A fantastic location with amazing service. Had a beautiful Sunday lunch, the beef was excellent and I cant recommend the brownie enough. Hats off to them, its the best Sunday meal and pint of Guinness i've had in a long time. Will most certainly be back
Excellent food and service. We went for Sunday dinner. We had roast beef, roast pork, and beef pie. All were excellent quality. The beef in the pie was big chunks and tender with no fat and very good pastry. The roast beef dinner was very good beef and veg. I didn't try this. My partners pork roast was very good, very tender pork cooked excellently. Prices are more than normal. £20-£22 for the roasts and £20 for the pie. But the price reflects the good quality. So, no issues paying a bit more. The gravy is amazing, but could do with serving a little bit more. But a minor quible.
Cosy pub with outdoor space and fabulous views! The food is amazing highly recommend the calamari and chicken parmigiana, but there were so many options and my vegan friends were also very satisfied. Service fast and friendly, We will definitely be back again!Rooms: 5/5
Went for a couple of drinks with family and our dog. Very very dog friendly! Also very busy but not in a bad way. Great service and nice, friendly staff.Service: 5/5
Fantastic find in Burley Woodhead. We spent a few days there walking and visiting family, and stayed in the hideout above the pub also great!. The food was excellent, the team were super friendly and it really is a dog-friendly pub. Lovely atmosphere every nightRooms: 5/5
Just had food here with friends . Absolutely gorgeous food did not disappoint . Lovely friendly staff . First time I’ve been back to this pub in 30 years lovely atmosphere . Will definitely be returning . Food & drinks: Lovely piping hot food generous portions.
We hosted our running club's 10 year anniversary at The Hermit and had a fabulous day. They let us use space outside with an additional room inside, and were great hosts keeping us fed and watered after a good run out on the moor. Cheers!Rooms: 5/5
Booked a room for a remembrance event and spent over 600 on food and drink over a 2 hr period , the place is clean and food is nice but actually quite expensive. The staff came across as quite rude in rushing us out dead on the minute the booking was finished . Despite the tables Clearly showing not booking for until another 60 minutes .. disappointing customer service tbh .. not helpful not sure the group will return quite a few local people left am old lady quite upset
Popped in for a couple of half pints on a hot summer's day. Great view from the beer garden, with a reasonable selection of drinks offered at the bar. Car park was a bit of a squeeze, but it was worth the effort! Walkability: Not really walkable from anywhere except from the immediate surrounding village.
Popped by here for a wee drink after a long walk on the moor. A nice selection of cask ales and they also have Guinness probably the perfect drink after a long hike! The beer garden was exceptional and the seating area outside is inviting.
