The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly. Been there many times and never had one single bad experience.
Had the sizzling grilled chicken with vegetables and rice tonight! Arrived hot & 'sizzling' and delicious! Great value for money at just £8.49! We were a table of 6 and all our food arrived at the same time even though it was 3 separate orders. Lovely service Will definitely be returning.
Unfriendly welcome. 'Have you booked? No, well you'll have to sit where there is no reserve sign' We went before 5pm midweek because we knew it would be quiet. Some of the reserve signs were not until 8pm. We sat at a non reserved table for two. On the way to the bar, I glanced into the kitchen and saw the chef stood there eating. Not very hygienic I would have thought. Our order of mac and cheese and sausage and mash took a while to arrive and when it did with a small boat of gravy, the gravy was so congealed it would not pour and had to be scraped out. Yes, I should have sent it back, but I didn't because we just wanted to eat. Very disappointing in attitude, service and quality of food. I have not eaten there in a while and it used to be good, so don't know what has happened since, but I won't be back.
Rude, lazy and incompetent manager. Allegedly pays for a good review. Don't be fooled. He bars those who don't give a good review , hence its a mostly quiet place. Pilot pub however is just a little way with a great welcome and good food.

Went for Sunday roast only to find out they weren't serving roast although all the menus were out. Ordered scampi for my girlfriend which should never have been served she was so disgusted she walked out and left me eating alone. Her jacket spud was rock hard and you have to play hunt the scampi as it was tiny in the batter. Left feeling very disappointed. Won't go back there
Staff worked hard behind the bar to be super friendly & informative. Kitchen staff seemed in a rush to leave early as it was a Tuesday so food served was cold but on a second go it was fineFood: 3/5
Excellent food and service as always. The only downside was the weather - bitterly cold. Unfortunately the restaurant has two external doors which were constantly opening which made it difficult to eat in comfort.
5 adults & 3 children. Booked online 5.30pm to 7.30pm confirmed by the Haymoor twice by email. When we arrived there we found notices on the tables telling us we had to leave at 6.40pm, assumed due to England World Cup Quarter Final game. The food was ok, to be honest nothing special, I decided to have the Ultimate Scampi & chips, 12 scampi I subbed out chips for sweet potato fries which were extra. I must admit I was shocked, I've never seen scampi so small, mostly made of crunchy crumbs, the portion of sweetpotato fries would fill the palm of a woman's hand, the plate was slightly bigger that my grand daughters meals, in fact if I'd have known I'd have had what they did. I've given 3 stars only because no one else had any other issues & house wine at £10.50 a bottle. Kid-friendliness: Kids had nice size meal, drink & a really very good pudding of ice cream with a selection of toppings so they could design there own sundae. Parking: Nice sized carpark, Blue Badge spaces outside the main doors.
Half the food wasn't available, I showed the staff member my nhs card and he gave quite a funny look as to why I was showing it so had to tell him what it was for. When they brought the food out they didn't seem to know which burger was what so didn't know who's meal they were. The side portion of curly fries was tiny.
