Great food, great selection of beer and reasonable pricing. Chicken was a little bit dry but apart from that, the meal was great. They also have a range of Marston's craft beers like Hobgoblin etc. The Hobgoblin IPA is by far my favourite. Very flavourful and has enough fizz for an IPA. It's a shame they don't do Stella however they do San Miguel which is almost just as good. I recommend going on Sundays as they have 2 for 1 meals and a decent Sunday roast. We only paid £15 for two portions of hunter chicken, the beer cost us more than the meals as we had 4.
From the moment my daughter and myself met up with Andy, we knew that the Shah of Persia was exactly the right place for my daughter’s wedding reception. As the big day approached, Andy was excellent at communicating and nothing was too much trouble for him. On the day itself, my husband and myself had breakfast with our daughter, at the Shah, and it was tasty and delicious. Colin was in charge that morning and he and his team were so professional, warm and welcoming. When we got back from the Registry Office, we were welcomed with Prosecco and the whole place felt cosy and inviting. As for the food….the red pepper and tomato soup starter, was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and had a real ‘homemade’ taste. Every meal that was brought out was beautifully presented. I had the lasagne and it was one of the tastiest ones I have ever had. If you are looking for a small, intimate place for a wedding reception…..or for any special occasion….I cannot recommend the Shah of Persia highly enough. Andy and his team did an absolutely superb job of making my daughter’s day, VERY special and I can’t thank them enough
The best steak I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked. Delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. About the tuck into some apple pie. Can't put an image of meal but here is the aftermath lol. I would highly recommend to anyone and all.
Very friendly welcome, lovely room. Very comfortable bed, 2 pillows which is fantastic as I'm usually disappointed to find just one elsewhere. The night exit/entry door is a great idea. You don't need to walk through the pub to get to your room if you've been out. Plenty of little extra touches which to some may seem trivial but to have shower gel/shampoo & plenty of high quality towels is really nice. Also plenty of tea/coffee including a decaf option plus biscuits was good. Dinner was fantastic, cooked perfectly, table service was great and nothing was too much trouble. Likewise, breakfast was perfect and far better than we expected. Honestly cannot fault anything at all. Highly recommend staying here.
This evening my wife and I ate aye the Shah for the first time since pandemic. I just want to say how smiling and polite the staff were and the food was excellent. My steak, ordered medium rare was not only cooked as ordered but was so tender, We will definitely go again and will recommend the Shah to our many friends Not only are the prices for food very competitive but today was an even better bargain with 30% discount on main courses Thanks to all staff and well done the landlord !.
I had lunch here yesterday and it was great. I had a burger and everything was perfect. I had crispy fries, the bun was warm and quite soft and the burger patties themselves were moist and tasty. My wife had hunters chicken and that was great too. We'll go back when we're next down that way.
My husband and I went for a lovely meal today. We had the smaller lunch menu of garlic mushrooms and fish and chips it was just the right amount for us. The piece of fish with the batter was just right, and the chips were crispy just how we like them. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the price was very good. They also accept the blue star card which is also a bonus.
After a long day at Bournemouth air show me and my family wanted something reasonably healthy for dinner before a long drive home. The only place I could find with space at such short notice on a Saturday night. I was pleasantly surprised as it doesn’t look amazing from the outside. However the staff where attentive, the place was clean and the food was well cooked and quick to the table. No complaints and will definitely return
Great staff, tall man serving great customer skills i.e. great choice, when will we see you again. All on tab, pay on leaving. I left a good tip but not asked to or added to bill like some places. Food was excellent for a pub menus and reasonably priced. Sausage and mash was lovely. Good environment to enjoy a nice beer and meal. Excellent Thank you.
We found the staff really lovely from bar staff to cleaners and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spacious and clean and beds lovely and comfortable. Lots of tea coffee and biscuits in room and soap and shower gel. Nice you get 20% off on food and drink for staying. The cleaners even offered to help out with our luggage as we have kids in tow which was a lovely We would def stay here again and recommend to anyone.
