The Nurses are great, however the GP's are terrible.nOne doctor wouldn't see me a good while back when I said I needed antibiotics for a throat infection I was told it was a virus without even been seen. 24 hours later I insisted on seeing a doctor and when I finally got seen, I was sent straight to hospital. I ended up being there for 3 days with a serious infection.nnMy partner has a degenerative disc condition in his spine. He has multiple joint issues and is in constant pain. He also has constant muscle spasms in both legs, which can be visibly seen by the naked eye. Without even having a blood test he was told to make sure he has enough salt........ he has enough salt in his diet, he is a very fit man and takes vitamins. There has been no investigation into this and he has just been told all they can do is manage his pain. He was firstly sent away with no pain management and had to go back. He now has painkillers but this has not helped at all and he is now close to losing his job!nHe saw the doctor yesterday and she just 'sighed' and again did nothing regarding the underlying issues!nnWe are changing surgery, it isn't worth possible sepsis through no antibiotics, and a possible serious underlying illness, unemployment and no quality of life because the GP's have no enthusiasm or 'bedside manner'.nDoctors take an oath..... multiple GP's at this practice clearly lied when taking this oath and should be investigated!!!
Phoned today at 8am for a doctors appointment, was 13th in queue, eventually got through and explained to receptionist what was wrong and being in bad pain was diagnosed by her saying you need a physiotherapist not a doctor, I explained that I'm working and could I come in after 3pm, was politely told only got 3pm next week, I said I'm taking more painkillers than I should be, but was told there's nothing else, so it appears after 48 years of paying tax and insurance and still working I cannot get to see a doctor, even though they say on TV nobody knows your body like you and get it checked out by your doctor if your worried, fear not the receptionist will diagnose you and block any appointments.
After ringing 11 times and thinkingnthe phone was being ignored I went in person to the surgery.nIt turned out that the phone lines were not working so they have nothing coming through at their end. Frustrating! The issue was reported by staff early this morning but has still not been rectified by the phone company.nAnyway, as I was at the surgery at around 3p.m. they booked me in for an appointment to see the Doctor straight away. Very helpful staff.nVery grateful. Thank you.
All staff are helpful patient and kind. My prescriptions take a lot of time to do and at times the pharmacy sends my script back if they don't have the dosage prescribed so the staff and doc write and send another for the dose they do have.nGreat practice
I have never had a problem with booking GP appointments, requesting medication, or attending for routine nurse appointments, even during lockdown. Everyone at the surgery is friendly and helpful. Long wait times to get through by phone can't be helped, and once you get through, you are not rushed.
