Was in the queue for 50 mins. However the receptionist was lovely and sorted my appointment with a nurse quickly. Booking through the NHS app is quicker and easier but when I need to contact reception directly this works well enough. The wait time is completely understandable due to the sheer amount of people that use these services.
I have been with this surgery for a good 13/14 years. The GP's themselves have always offered 110% other than Dr Barinda, with whom i had a horrible experience. The receptionists are mostly nice, but they are human i suppose. The admin side of my GP surgery is lacking any form of stability. it takes a good 50 minutes and 150+ calls to actually get through, even then your very lucky if you actually get an appointment. Overall i would say this surgery deserves an upgraded and smoother running booking system.
Just repeating the other reviews. The admin/appointment system is diabolical. I can never ever get through and end up ringing 111 or go to A + E to be seen too. I had Covid in January which led to a bacterial chest infection and they wouldn’t see me. My son urgently needs to see a doctor today due to a high temperature and throat infection, it’s half 10 and I have been trying to to since 7.45 with a constant engaged tone. It’s not good enough.
The most unprofessional and backwards service imaginable. If you are thinking of joining this surgery don't waste your time. Ended up going private for blood tests for our 12 year old son ridiculous waiting time for an appointment with NHS over 4 weeks. The results were sent through 2 weeks ago and we are still battling with receptionist and ridiculous excuses to get hold of the results. Absolutely shocking service we've been told wrong information by multiple receptionist and told we can't even have a phonecall appointment for over two weeks. We've heard nothing for a week. Good luck getting through and speaking to someone and when you do they are incompetent.
Just a really really poor service from a call handling point of view. I finally got to the front of the telephone holding queue only to be put through to an options menu which put me on hold. 15 minutes and I gave up. There’s also a lack of ‘can-do’ spirit from admin. If I’ve been on the same monthly prescription for two years, would it really be so difficult to double up the quantity so I come to collect every second month.
My partner rang the surgery mid morning and got through in less than ten minutes. Angela answered the call and was very friendly and professional. She made a blood test appointment with the nurse and my partner received a confirmation text within a few minutes. Just wanted to comment on what was a positive interaction, thank you.
So my mum's currently just stopped from these doctors as of Wednesday 13th July 2022, she's rang this morning because she needed help as she has suffered with mental health issues since having a stroke last year 2021, and the receptionist and colleagues refused to help her today due to the swop which is understanding, but what they didn't know is my mum was still on the phone as the clapped that she's now left the practice. My mum was poorly treated at Huddersfield Road surgery and was told she was only allowed 1 appointment per week, her medication has been stopped over and over because your seen by so many different doctors there and they all have different opinions!! Her weight loss is ridiculous she survives on 3 to 4 hours per night, she won't go out no where because she's scared, and all these doctors say is its down to anxiety but they was no help for that! AVOID AVOID AVOID
This surgery is completely shocking you can't get through they just dint even answer the phone when you go in no appointments currently waiting for important test results to be told a minimum 3 week wait my son is on daily medication and every month i order it they order the wrong thing or just dont order at all and say its human error the reception team are shocking if and when you do see a Dr they are great but try get past the ppl on reception who are the ones causing the issues never known a surgery like it ...
I honestly cannot put into words how shocking this doctors surgery is. You cannot get in contact with them - the phone is constantly engaged. I've rang over 100 times in a day on many occasions and been unable to get in touch. Other family members at this doctors surgery have the exact same problem. When you do eventually get in touch its absolutely impossible to get an appointment. The only way to get one is by going down there, and even then the receptionist is blurting out your medical notes in an open reception with people passing with absolutely no regard for patient confidentiality! Having spent 2 weeks trying to get in touch, I finally managed to speak to someone and was told it would be 1-2 days for test results. It is now 15 days later, the doctor still has not got in touch. Reception are refusing to get a doctor to call me until next week, even though I have ALREADY waited 13 days longer than expected. The NHS may be underfunded and overrun, but quite frankly there is not one ounce of a duty of care from the staff at this surgery! I hope no one with signs of a life threatening medical condition ever relies on this doctors surgery as they will be dead by the time they have messed you around.
Well rang up last Friday as the dr told me to so I could book a new appointment for my 7 year old in 3 weeks to be told theyre isn’t no appointments even though it’s on her notes that she needs a appointment and now currently on phone to them but been on hold for 30 minutes reception staff are horrendous here speak down to you and make you feel like you’ve done something wrong by ringing up
