I was so sad to see the poor reviews this practice has received. I have been with Ashville for nearly 8 years and cannot fault the treatment and care I have received. I must admit that there are one or two receptionists who either need retraining or to get a new job, as speaking to somebody with a bad attitude automatically rubs us up the wrong way, but on the whole they are friendly and helpful. I may not always be able to get a same day appointment and booking ahead seems to have totally disappeared since lockdown, but I have always had a doctor or nurse call me back on the same day. Then if they think my issue warrants an appointment, they'll see me on the same day. I appreciate what we have even more when I compare my surgery to that of my daughter in Rotherham. She always has to wait at least a fortnight for an appointment, so I consider myself very fortunate to be where I am.
Don't recomand to anyone, to get a referral need weeks or months I was told depend of nhs. I was recommended to go to private surgery to avoid long waiting. People pay national insurance in vain. I arranged an appoitment ,when I was there I was told I have no appoitment. Disgusting, worth half star.
What's the point of having doctors if you can never get an appointment? Called in this morning explaining dire situation of having extreme amounts of pain receptionist could care less and tells me to ring back at 2 , ring back at 2 after 15 minute wait get told no appointments and to ring iheart at 4.... Now i have to go through another sleepless night of pain because of these clowns
Phoned to try and get an appointment after 40mins in a queue. I was told there were no appointments and to phone at 8am which I did. To make things worse I was having an allergic reaction and told to go to the pharmacy to see if they can help with my swollen face.
Been trying to get an appointment now for many many months,,been told if it's that bad go to iheart wich is in itself a joke.
Took in a urine sample and the next week I'm told they had a spillage. Took another sample in only to be told the week after they have had another spillage. So sample number 3 the receptionist tells me they can't except it because it's after 16:00. The time was 16:30. What a complete waste of my time. How this Doctors is running with such incompetence is beyond me. I hope someone from ashville will explain what is going on and why you can't take a sample without spilling it? Edit 25th November 2020 I went to the hospital for a scan on my hand and the doctor told me to ring up to ask about the results. Karen answered the phone and told me it said normal and left it at that. I asked if I would be speaking to a Doctor or not and the reply was, "So you want to speak to a Doctor even though the X-ray says normal?". So Karen thinks I'm lying about the pain I'm still getting in my fingers? What a great way to treat people. So even though I have pain, Karen thinks I should chin up and get on with life. Fanstatic. 1 year on and the same person is getting away with talking to patients like dirt. Edit 2022 I'm amazed that no matter what time you phone on a morning they will tell you they have no appointments available and to phone back after 2pm if its an emergency. So phoning before 2pm doesn't consist an emergency until after 2pm? I understand they are busy but I was looking to talk to a doctor on the phone which I felt was a better option than booking in for something that may or may not have got resolved on a quick phone call.
I have more then two months since I am feeling poorly. No appetite, exhaustion, gaining weight, headache, vomiting without eating. I have to call to them four times to try to book an appointment and finally I have received one after three weeks. I was checked and I was told that my liver seams to be a bit big. They booked me for an ultrasound on the abdomen an blood tests. The doctor prescribed me antidepressive tablets to help me sleep even I have like 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily. I had the testst done two weeks ago and still no results and no phone call. I have requested for them to give me my username and password for my online account from the GP. They gave it to me but in my account all the rights to see my test results are blocked by the organisation. I have asked for the permission a week ago and still nothing. They keep saying that the manager needs to give me approval. By the health and safety act I have all the rights to have access to my results but it look likes it's not easy to get permission. I feel worse and they keep booking me for blood test. I had one Monday and I was lucky to see it in the app because they didn't text to let me know as they should. When I asked what the blood test is for the nurse told me that the doctor will let me know when he will call me. They are trying to check you by the phone and by video call wich is abnormal for me. Is not like when the pandemic risk was very high. I will try next week to get my results and it looks like I am forced to move to another GP even if it is further from my home. I do not recommend them as a GP. They are trainers for future GP doctors. If the future doctors will do the same as them GOD help us. I can say that even on reception you are unswered as you are bothering for nothing and waisting their time.
I wanted o change doctors and thought that Ashfield surgery would be the best one to have. How wrong I was. I couldn't even get an appointment because of the hours I work. This is okay if you're on the dole and have nothing to do all day but this "phone before 8am or 2pm" is of no use if you work these hours. What a sham of a place that it. Anyway I had to turn tail and go back to my old doctor.
Was told to phone back in the afternoon, I did that and the lines were busy for an entire hour, finally got through, only to be told to phone back tomorrow! I'm genuinely concerned for my health and I'm told by you to book an appointment with and concerns or change in my health, I do this and get nowhere. No wonder the reviews are bad. I understand you may be busy, but I'm asking for a phone call from a doctor to voice my health concerns..I'm not asking for an appointment.
Ordered my Asthma prescription which I have had for 40 years only to find out at the pharmacy that it has been cut in half without letting me know, I now have to pay double the price for my prescription. When I contacted the practice to see why this had happened I was told I needed an asthma review which are supposed to be yearly although I had one less than six months ago and cutting my prescription in half was never mentioned on the last review. I contracted covid 19 and obviously with it been a respiratory problem used more sprays than usual. When phoned back by Amy one of the reception team I was spoke to like a 3 year old child, and if any of my employees spoke to people in such a manner they would be out of a job I just hope I don't contract covid again as when I don't work I don't get paid but still have to pay double. Yet these people have a duty of care over us then God help us.
