*edited 9 months after original rating*... Things have greatly improved, rampant cheating is no longer a problem at the pub quiz so it is once again great fun. As with the below review, food, drinks, staff and prices all fine. Original review: While the food and drinks are a good price and of good quality this review is for the pub quiz on thursday nights. The pub quiz is a great format and with a good range of questions. However, there is a team that has been known to be cheating (using their mobile phones to look up answers, they even book a table behind the pillar away from the quiz master) for several weeks and the management of this has been terrible. It is something of an open secret that Fat Chance (the team name) cheat every week, yet nothing is being done about it. There are so many warnings given but no one has been barred or banned from participating in the quiz and it ruins the fun for everyone - are the drinks they buy during the pub quiz more important than the enjoyment of everyone else? Our weekly pub quiz is slowly becoming a source of frustration and anger rather than enjoyment which is really sad as the only thing wrong is that Fat Chance are consistently being allowed to get away with cheating.

2 serving at the bar so not good service. Staff friendly but over worked. Serving drinks and having to leave bar to go to kitchen to get meals and serve to table. Not good when busy. Shame on management who should hire more staff

Nice comfortable restaurant pub Welcoming friendly pub. Nice quiet areas for meeting with friends. Food reasonably priced and served at a good speed.

Ok it's not fine dining. The place is cosy. The staff are all very friendly. Service is quick. The food is pub grub. It ain't posh. It's proper pub grub. I work away alot and have eaten here a lot when staying in the area. Never disappointed

Went to this pub today for lunch, staff friendly, service good and food was lovely.The atmosphere was relaxed even though they were busy.
