I have just had first Christmas dinner at a pub and I have to say, it was such a lovely meal.nI booked in for a 3pm table.nWas greeted by nice smiley bar staff, who reminded me to book my car reg into the system.nI was shown my table which was in lovely spot by the Christmas tree.nMy starter arrived after about 10 minutes.nBeautiful smoked salmon and prawn cocktail.nPrawns were lovely and cold sometimes cold starters can go warm if sat in a busy, hot kitchen & the bread was so flavourful.nI am a fast eater compared to most, so was expecting a wait for my main but was about 5 mins after starter finished.nI will admit that normally I only have a main meal at home and so bigger portion. I was thinking that the portion given would leave me still hungry but it was perfect. The veg were cooked perfectly and the turkey and gammon were delicious. The gravy was the best gravy I’ve had in a long time. The only thing I didn’t eat was the stuffing. Never liked the “stuff”.nThen for dessert, I had the warm chocolate brownie with ice cream. It was delicious and perfect.nOverall, I had a wonderful experience at The Green Man. Staff out front were warm, very pleasant and checked on me throughout but without being annoying, false or intrusive. I’ve eaten at many Ember pubs and this was the best in my experience. Lovely atmosphere, clean, tidy and inviting with very pleasant staff.nThe food stood out for me.nIt was cooked perfectly and was delicious and so filling. I wish the pub was a bit nearer to me as I would eat there a lot more often.nEvery table near me were complimentary about their food and service too.nI look forward to going back.

You can park near the door in a generous off road car parknnWell located on the main road, a 5 minute drive off the motorwaynnThis is a popular spot and trade is busynnA bustling place with a good atmospherennI like comfortable seating and we sat near the fireplacennDecor is tasteful with interesting pictures from olden daysnnEveryone was enjoying themselves and our meals were goodnnA great place to call in atnnA ground-floor disabled access toilet and no steps to access the place makes it good for disabled and wheelchair patronsnnGood job Green Man
Convenient large car park free of charge when validating kn the keypad inside the pub.nVery homely inside with real fires going inside brick fireplaces.nHad a Ghost Ship; chicken wings and a very good ale. My friend enjoyed the turkey dinner. Very good turkey, but rather skimpy the dinky gravy boat.nHad a look at the Christmas menu and was rather disappointed with the lack of beef.
Nice pub with a good atmosphere but drinks seem really expensive.nn£3.25 for a ‘medium’ Pepsi half a pint!. It’s literally syrup and carbonated water! Rip off for a small soft drink.nnThis round of a pint and a soft drink cost nearly a tenner!
My husband and I have been here before and had a lovely experience. The food was nice and staff were very customer oriented plus great value for money. We decided to go back, however this time has been a totally opposite experience. Waiting time was awful. We tried for 20mins to book via the app which was incredibly slow and kept buffering then we thought we'll use the table scan which again gave the same result. My husband then gave up and went to order at the counter which took another 15 mins. Very apparent they were under staff as the same staff seem to be multitasking everywhere. When our food arrived the chips that we ordered were lukewarm and not fresh. Waiting time between meals were unacceptable. We were debating whether to leave at this point. We waited almost an hour for dessert! My husband had to go and remind them that it's been almost 1hour wait. Then 10mins after, our dessert arrived. Totally unacceptable and sadly we won't be revisiting.
