Surprisingly good. Happy, attentative, friendly staff with on the most part good food. The chef tried a new dish which our table was the only one to try and it was a bad bad failure, but they gave us a different dish instead which means The Grange just about hung on to it's 5 stars in my review. Also they had run out of our first 2 choices of wine, that's bad management, but again I hope they can sort that out. We'll be going back, very reasonable prices for the quality of food - on the most part.
The food was really delicious. I had pork belly from the specials board and it was one of the nicest meals I've ever eaten in a restaurant/pub. My friend had a salad and hoped to have it with salmon, however it wasn't available. My friends were all pleased with their meals. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Another friend requested that instead of a banoffe waffle that he had ice-cream and salted caramel sauce, which they did for him. Overall, a very pleasant meal. Lost a star for not having the salmon.
Lovely pub meal with work colleagues after work. We booked a table in advance. Large car park for parking. It’s two seconds from the a12 and next to Boreham House a beautiful Manor House with a massive pond in front. We arrived and were greeted straight away at the bar. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. We were seated quickly whilst we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Kim was our server. Friendly and kind and ensured we had the correct food and were enjoying our meal. It was my first time visiting Boreham, I will definitely come again. No long wait for the meal. Kim allowed us to split the bill and then some of us to pay cash and some on the card. Lovely food, can’t fault. Would recommend for a meal out. I didn’t see any children. May be more an adults pub / couples rather than families. An added bonus… If you are a blue light card holder you can get 20% off the food June 22. We didn’t know until the end of the meal. 6 of us ate a main and dessert for £109 with the discount. Drinks were separate. The bill before the discount was £129.
We went here years ago and hadn't been back until tonight. We were wondering why? Delicious food, excellent quality, lovely atmosphere and fantastic service from our server Kayti. The childrens meals were excellent value. We will be back a lot sooner!
lovely ambiance at this pub / restaurant with very good food and excellent service, our waitress Ellie really looked after our table very well.... well worth a visit if you are out and about....
Went there for Sunday lunch.very nice .I've never seen such a big pig in blanket.amazing would deffinately reccomend
Oh my god!! Where do I start. Such an incredible restaurant the decor is beautiful and the staff are even more beautiful! I want to especially thank Jon who made my experience top notch. Such a bubbly and friendly person. My experience wouldn’t have been the same without him. Thank you Jon and The Grange! Absolutely would recommend.
amazing Sunday roast. My Daughter is Coeliac and she has her own complete gluten free menu. wonderfully. Kayti and Gemma were super helpful.
Nice pub for food and or drinks. Close to hotel so can be busy at certain times so always best to book a table or try your luck. As well as regular lunch items they have weekly chef specials too. Plenty of parking and close to main roads but no noise issues within.
Update. Visited on a Friday night. Didn't book a table and didnt need to. This visit was so much better than our previous 4 years ago. We did say we wouldn't return but as it had been so long we thought we'd give it another try. Staff polite. Variety of food options. Vegan burger, vegan curry, vegan mushroom and ale pie. Mushroom and ale pie was nice. Chips disappointing though. We all had something with chips and they were basic oven cooked chips which were not crispy at all. They didn't have the vegan torte for dessert which was disappointing. Also I'm not sure if we got the vegan sorbet options correctly from the waitress but! Nevermind. We would return but mainly because we have tesco vouchers. Saturday night and the place was fully booked. We were an early booking and didn't wait long to be served or for our food. Menu was quite varied, a separate vegetarian section. Had the halloumi and chips, chicken with bacon and chips and garden bowl with aubergine. Was happy with the food. I would say the garden bowl is over priced for what it is. Had dessert which was OK. The decor is nice and enough parking. Revisited on a busy Thursday night. The service was absolutely terrible. Maybe the staff were very new and young but I shouldn't be making excuses for them. Everything which was bought out from the kitchen seemed to go to the wrong table. The young waiter didn't know what it was he was bringing out. We had to wait ages and drinks order was forgotten. Maybe one of the problems was there seemed to be over 4 people serving us and no communication between them. The young waiter seemed to be starting an argument with another table who weren't happy. Probably because of the same reasons and I don't blame them. The young waiter shouldn't have acted like that, a manager should have been called instead. Couldn't wait to eventually get out of there nearly 3 hours later. Sorry as we had been previously happy with the 1st visit but this time it has put me off returning. Faulty towers sprang to mind!
