Nice atmosphere, interior. Clean and tidy. Very delicious and filling food. Big car park. Place suitable for a meal with toddlers.
The food was brilliant. As tasty as mine was, everybody else's dinner made me wish i chosen something else. One Christmas dinner had no potatoes, but that was very quickly remedied. The wait between courses, especially the dessert course, was longer than we would have liked. Hence, only 4 stars. But i'd happily go back.Food: 5/5
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast at Ego at the Running Mare whilst in Essex. Busy place with plenty of atmosphere. Drinks arrived quickly but waited a long time for our main courses. It was well worth the wait, though. Roast beef tender and Yorkshire puddings are almost as big as your plate! Creme brulee was slightly split but still a good texture. Couldn't fault the team and service provided....
Amazing food, fabulous drinks and FANTASTIC service. Honestly our server Lucy Anne was fabulous, she checked in constantly, made sure we were alright and made us laugh you don't get that anywhere else thank you xx
What a ridiculous place. They wouldn't let me order and pay for my ale at the bar. It was all table service. 14 of us were eating and we had to work out what we had eaten and drunk and pay at the table. Why not let us settle our individual bills at the bar like a normal pub. Forty minutes wait for our food too.
This was a special occasion, we had 4 reasons to celebrate, but mainly our sons 18th birthday. Our main meals were good, desserts are extremely overpriced but extremely tasty!! We didn't think much of the waiter, he didn't give a professional service. Neither did he say goodbye when we walked passed and said thank you and goodbye to him.
The food is not the greatest but what do you expect from a chain on the other hand. friendly staff . Nice atmosphere , prices are relatively reasonable. Clean interior And a large spacious outdoor area with ample seating and plenty of sunshine on a pleasant day. Good selection of beers and wines ... Nothing out of the ordinary but definitely not the worst
Popped in for a lunch with the misses, booked in advance which is advisable at busy times. Greeted by a friendly host and had amazing service throughout! Food was incredible and reasonably priced, and fir the first time in a long time I had a beer that tasted like beer and not line cleaner. The staff clearly take pride in tbus venue and the quality if service. Thank you for a great experience!
Really enjoyed my experience at The Running Mare, stopped here for lunch with my family. This pub has a great atmosphere and vibe to it, the staff are friendly and helpful who are happy to help. The food was tasty at a reasonable price with a good selection. Will definitely be returning again!!
