The Good Intent is a delightful 16th Century coaching Inn in Petersfield, with original oak beams taken from the ship it is named after and a wealth of traditional features. We offer delicious, healthy, fresh and affordable food for you and your family.

“If you are in Petersfield and want some lovely food this is the place to go. Lovely staff and lovely food served by very polite staff."

We offer delicious, healthy, fresh and affordable food for you and your family. Our menu is also 90% gluten free.

We also offer an excellent range of beautifully kept real ales from Fuller's in Chiswick, regular guest ales and fine wines and spirits.

We have live music every weekend aswell as regular events such as Folk Night, Quiz Night and Open Mic night.

A great location, a short walk from Festival Hall car park. We had Sunday lunch there. Pork belly. Which was very tasty. Lovely old pub, which is very popular with the locals, especially on their live music nights. Good food a good range of drinks, and lovely people behind the bar.Service: 5/5

Lunchtime visit with family on Weds 10th May. Good value, good portions, honest pub food & quick service. Excellent well kept beer, staff very pleasant & friendy, nice homely, welcoming atmosphere. An attractive pub with pleasant atmosphere and friendly bar team. Dog friendly and parking available just outside. Had a Sunday lunch there - beef. It was ok for the £, but pretty basic - one slice of beef and dare i say a bit like a school dinner. Perhaps better for a pint than a meal?
Quite pub on a Sunday afternoon during a autumn rainy day... Nevertheless it was perfect for a chat and a pint in the warmth. Walkability: Easy to reach from the town centre and it is surrounded by a low speed traffic zone.
Lovely, traditional style pub. Incredibly friendly and that includes the Regulars. Tastiest burger I've had in ages. Real ales are banging: Fuller's, Dark Star and HSB epic! If I lived around here, this would be my local. Which means I now have to move to Petersfield...
Went to the Good Intent on Boxing Day with my mum who lives in Petersfield and we found it very appealing with a nice fire and a gemutlich atmosphere and decently priced drinks. Will definitely go again when in the area.
A very small Pub with reduced menu. I had gammon and chunky chips, which I enjoyed very much, they came with 2 fried eggs, delicious. We managed to park right in front of the Pub which is in College St in front of the Church. We went to see the band playing lovely music. I recommend it.
