I thought no other Chinese takeaway could beat the one I use at home on holiday here but the Golden Sun is perfection. The staff are really friendly and the shop is so clean. But the best thing is the food it is absolutely outstanding. If you come on holiday and want a chinese look no further you won't be disappointed. Thank you Golden Sun. We will definitely be back.
One of the best British Take Away style Cantonese/Chinese that I have had for a long time. The crispy beef was perfectly crispy, as were the chips and the spring rolls. The chef is obviously very good at fried food. The non fried dishes were also very good. I highly doubt there is a better Chinese take out local to Mablethorpe. It does get abit pricey if your ordering separate dishes off the menu, set meal is better value but probably won't have everything you want.

I have used this chinese for many many years. It changed hands a couple of years back and the first time we tried it with the new owners the meal was indedible. You could not even eat the chilli salted chicken, more like twiglets ... okay we thought, give it another go. So we did, over the past couple of years we have had to stop eating the curry as four times out of five it was inedible. I have never had a takeaway curry that was inedible except here. So that was off the menu. Then there were the repeated mistakes on the order, annoying as 'to put it right' means the rest of the dinner has to go cold and the meal invariably has been ruined. Wrong dishes given, wrong sauces, missing items ... but today was the final straw. Sheer unprofessionalism and inability to accept their mistakes. We placed the order, our usual order as remember curry is off the menu unless you want your throat burnt which never changes. I arrive to collect the food, there is one gentleman prior to me. I pay the exact same amount as we always do, which indicates the order has been put in correctly by us. And that it has been received correctly. I take the order home and start to serve it, to find that instead of a chow mein dish they had given another rice dish, so basically our meal was rice with more rice ... I telephoned them and the young girl who served me clearly cannot cope with an assertive customer who has a brain to work out that she is not being truthful. I pointed out the issue and to be fair, I pointed out a lot of issues. She then had the audacity to accuse us of putting in the wrong order ..I heard the order being put in and knew that she was trying to blame anyone but themselves. Straight away that shows their customer services, along with aspects of their food are lacking. When I did challenge her she accused me of shouting, I did not shout, I spoke assertively and poor thing could not handle the heat ... so did what every mature person does and she hung up the phone. We will NEVER go there again and I will not be quiet about how they treat their customers when they are fronted with the mistakes that they make ... totally unacceptable, so please reconsider using this takeaway there are others that value their customers. Update. 24 hours later, some hours after reading my message of complaint via social media I received a message telling me to attend the shop and they would refund my money. Note .. no apology. I told them to donate the monies to charity, it was never about money ... it was about rude staff, wrong orders consistently and inedible food. I pointed this out again and eventually received an apology. However, I will never go there again and have found an alternative that comes recommended ... from previous Golden Sun customers. I will echo some of the feedback on here on how good it was .... under the owners that originally set it up, not the last two ... unfortunately.
