A bit of a wait, as everything is cooked freshly, but well worth it. We had mini cod, chips and peas, and we had enough to eat. The batter is crispy and golden, and delicious. We sat outside, but there is a restaurant to the side, and you can even order ahead, to avoid the queue. It's always very busy. Everywhere is clean and tidy, with plastic screens between the server and customer. Highly recommend.
Sublime! The place was packed when we went, I can see why! My husband had steak pie & chips & I had the fish & chips you see in the photo, absolutely delicious & a decent portion. The only problem I had was the seats were back to back & very close once people were sitting in them - two large ladies one me being relatively unable as well squashing back to back in the allocated space, was probably a sight for sore eyes! However, there wasn't any choice, so we had to slightly push our table further along so I could get in ~ thank goodness my husband's skinny! Would I go back? Absolutely, I'd definitely return, but maybe pray for a slightly less busy day, or get a take away.
Quality fish, chicken, chips, pineapple rings peas, beans and curry sauce and a decent cup of tea. And that's just the stuff I tried in the past two weeks but not all in one sitting and the staff were friendly. Highly recommended Wheelchair accessibility: I rode right in up to the order/pay point with my mobility scooter then parked up by the collection point, no problem and staff helpful
Excellent fish and chips , great service, good price and very clean. Would definitely recommend.
Instantly I was taken to another world. There was a wait for my mini fish and chips but oh my word was it worth it. The fresh flavour of the cod stood out but before this registered with my taste buds the light crispy batter gave me pause for thought. Like a fresh packet of skips only textured without an overbearing oily flavour the batter was outstanding, crispy, light and melt in the mouth. Bravo! The chips were equally impressive, perfectly cooked and flavorful as not to let the side down. Cracking!!!
Lovely sized portions. Fish had light crispy batter, and too many chips for me, I'm a lighter eater. Photos. One with curry sauce is normal size and one with mushy peas is a small portion.
Family run business with a lot of care put into what you buy. First visit loved it, all cooked fresh so a little wait but well worth it, as you can see I couldn't wait any longer to try lol. So if your in the area try it the little wait is well worth it.
Simply the best fish and chips you can get
Food is excellent and cooked to order. Have tried several others in Mablethorpe & Sutton and this is by far the best. One thing I would avoid though is ordering online thinking it will make collecting your food quick & easy. I've tried it twice and ended up standing around in the shop for 20-30 minutes while other orders taken after mine were filled.
A most excellent eating establishment. Use the online ordering from the table. It worked perfectly. Excellent food, my choice was cod, chips & mushy peas. Generous portions in fact too many chips for me & lots of other diners. When I'm back in Mablethorpe again I shall go back to Salty's again.Food: 5/5
