Hungry? Food served 12pm till 9pm everyday. From 12 till 3pm Monday to Friday is lunch club, only £7.50 for any pizza, salad or bread with a selected drink. All 12" pizza's are 241 on tuesdays. You can get 20% off selected food and drinks with our Slice loyalty card, available for free at the bar. Thirsty? All cocktails are 241 on Thursdays and don't forget about the slice card 20% saving! Our expert bartista lovingly serve only the finest Segafredo coffee all day from 10am. Whatever your reason for coming you will love what we have done with the George since our refurbishment in April 2011, we are the biggest and best in town so see you here next time you are in town!

I went for breakfast with my family and can honestly say I have never been served such an outrageous meal in a restaurant. The only way I can describe the ‘scrambled egg’ was that it was a mashed up boiled egg that had been cooked the day before. The sausage was cold and raw in the middle, the mushroom so dehydrated you couldn’t get a knife through it and the hash brown was still a raw potato. I’m still utterly shocked that a kitchen could turn out such an awful meal. The staff and service however was great.
We had a fantastic meal at The George in HarpendennThe atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. What really made the evening special was the exceptional service from our waitress, Abi. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her warm smile and professionalism made the experience even better. We’ll definitely be back for another wonderful meal. Highly recommend!
Friends and I had dinner at The George of Harpenden. We met in the bar for pre-dinner drinks. It was quite noisy, and we were glad when we went through into the dining room as it was quieter than in the bar, so we could hear ourselves talking.nOur waitress Jessica was friendly and attentive.nMany drink and menu options were unavailable as they are apparently changing the options.nI chose the Pepperoni Pizza, which was nice. I followed it with Rhubarb and Apple Crumble dessert, which was delicious and a good portion size.
We had a fabulous meal at The George. We were visiting family and decided to have Sunday lunch. The restaurant was busy and there were some big tables, but the service was excellent considering. Our drinks and then food arrived in a timely manner. I decided to have the cod and chips, my wife had the Chicken Milanese, which she said was delicious. My son and his partner both had pizzas, which were well covered full with ingredients. For dessert my wife and I shared crumble and custard. We look forward to our next visit.
Love this pub and have visited multiple times, if you are looking for a family friendly pub close to the station, this is the one for you.nGreat service, polite staff and generally lovely food from breakfast to dinner options.nThis visit I had the chicken milanese and the only criticism is that the chicken could have had more flavour, garlic, oregano etc.nThe cookie dough brownie was delicious and nice cocktails.nWill definitely be back.
