Situated in an 18th century former coach house overlooking Leyton Green in central Harpenden, our restaurant has a delightful rural character and feel. Excellent food, lovely atmosphere. Staff were polite and helpful. Reassured us with the allergy information too. A must to visit, will for sure be returning.
Visited yesterday Sunday for lunch. The ambience inside was vibrant, and the food was unquestionably delicious and very impressive, in particular the Caesar salad was the best I’ve had, and the pineapple carpaccio dessert was lovely.nOur server was well below par however. She was attentive enough once we had her attention, but that was difficult to gain. She was far too quick to ‘drop off’ our food and then move on to her next task, which made it difficult for us to ask for more drinks and items. Her colleague, a young gentleman server was very attentive and made good eye contact however, and helped us with our needs.nThe garden terrace area would benefit from better upkeep.nOverall the food and drink were absolutely fantastic, and great value, but room for improvement regarding the experience.
Decent atmosphere for a lunchtime. Food was good and reasonably priced - except the cheeseboard which is significantly overpriced.nService was poor service, constantly chasing orders that had been forgotten ,,,e.g. ice, tonic, ice cream,,, said yes when offered cheese with linguine starter - never arrived. Waited over 20 mins to place dessert order.
What a beautiful garden. The main course was not my favorite but the starter gazpacho was delicious and the desert simply amazing! Super thin slices of pineapple with almonds and liquid ginger magic. You absolutely have to try it! Congrats to the cook. :
A well run and much loved restaurant that offers good food, well informed and helpful staff in a great atmosphere. I've been here a number of times and have always been delighted with the food and service.
