Great service, nothing seemed too much trouble. Stayed for dinner and overnight to celebrate a birthday. Food was excellent and room was great. Coffee, tea and orange juice brought to our room in the morning along white a paper. Breakfast was a choice of continental and cooked. Good range overall. Highly recommend this as somewhere to stay.

As I had left I late to book for Sunday lunch in the main dining room we turned up at the Garden Room Restaurant 12.30 and got a table for 2, they don’t accept bookings and it was relatively empty when we arrived but tables filled up very quickly after 1pm. The restaurant is gorgeous and service impeccable. I had the rump of lamb that was cooked to perfection, the garden vegetables were equally delicious. Free coffee refills and staff very attentive. This was my first time in Stamford and I highly recommend The Garden Restaurant to anyone visiting, I will certainly be back. Food is exceptional value given the service, quality and setting. This is my ideal dining experience.

The staff were totally impeccable. Courteous, helpful and seemed to be enjoying their jobs! Great beers on tap, free bar snacks (which kept getting topped up), log fires, all the daily papers to read. Dinner in the Garden room was delicious, there was a great selection and it wasn't overly expensive. Freshly baked warm bread was perfect. My room was great, free tea and paper in the morning... Loads of free parking too Thanks! I'll try not to wait 28 years the next time.

Had a wonderful early mother's day family dinner here last night. The food and decor were exceptional, my only constructive criticism is that polite and good as it was the staff didn't seem to be very organised, I think having wait staff serve particular sections or tables would have worked a lot better as we had 4 different people serve us and at one point they brought the biscuits to my mums cheese and biscuit dessert but forgot the cheese. It was just a little chaotic still an overall lovely dining experience

Very disappointing. Booked a table in the restaurant and a room for the night as a surprise for my wife on our wedding anniversary. Restaurant staff need retraining as they constantly were leaning across the front of us to pour water/wine/food service and to collect the menus. Thought that was a fundamental part of the art of waiting at table! Instead of being a leisurely delightful evening, we were made to feel rushed at every opportunity from selecting our food choices to an attempt to rush the pouring of the wine. Other diners appeared to be having issues with the staff too. After dinner we went through to one of the bar areas only to be left standing whilst a member of staff was cutting long strips of orange peel in front of us. No attempt to put the task to one side and ask what we would like. Later no bar staff at all to serve - this was at 10pm, so hardly late. Food was mediochre and extremely expensive (panelled dining room) service poor . Room was okay but avoid the front of the building unless you want to hear the Friday night shouting as the pubs turn out in the street below.
