The best Sunday lunch we’ve had in a very long time. Starters were delicious and the roast beef perfectly cooked, rare and very tender. Wonderful hosts, nothing too much trouble. Fabulous wine list, had a super bottle of Gavi. Can’t wait to go back!Rooms: 5/5
The room was lovely, very clean d modern. Unfortunately due to staff the pub and kitchen was closed when we stayed, but a lovely continental breakfast was still provided and the owner was able to cater for my girlfriend who is coeliac. We'd stay again.
Our 2nd visit to The George Country Inn and it was as wonderful as the 1st. A beautiful place to stay, eat and drink. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful. The hosts Joe & Nathan are fabulous, nothing is too much trouble. There is plenty of free parking. The bedrooms are warm and so comfy, spotlessly clean and all complementary toiletries are provided, as well as tea, coffee, milk, biscuits etc. The George is spotlessly clean and its decor is beautiful throughout. The breakfast is delicious with top quality food and plenty of choice. There is a lovely in house restaurant and bar, so after an afternoon visiting beautiful North Yorkshire, you can arrive back at The George to relax, have a lovely meal and a drink, at your leisure, before retiring to a super comfy room for a great nights sleep. Thank you for another wonderful stay. We will be visiting again soon.
We stayed here after Ripon Races which is about 10 minutes away. This place is fantastic. The decor is beautiful, the hosts are lovely and it is spotlessly clean. We had dinner b&b and the food was amazing. We will definitely return.

We stayed at The George Country Inn from 25th - 28th May 2022 We had just travelled up from Plymouth on a 6 hour car journey and on arrival we were shown to our room. Wow , the room was decorated to a high standard and so clean and fresh smelling. Absolutely spotless. We had the Deluxe room with views onto the village. So very peaceful and relaxing after the long journey. The evening meal at the pub was wholesome and the service was second to none. The bed in the Deluxe room was so comfortable, just what we needed after the long drive. Breakfast, chosen the night before, was served promptly when seated in the breakfast room each morning. Again spotlessly clean and well decorated with a totally relaxed vibe. We will be back again and look forward to being welcomed again by Joe and Nathan Thank you Julie and Barrie
Nice pub and the rooms are very nice if you stay there, the only problem is, it's literally in the middle of nowhere, impossible to get a bus or a taxi to somewhere else as we found on our recent stay, having walked for miles to get back to the pub that we are staying in for a drink, only to find it closed at 8.35pm on a Saturday night!! There's not even a shop for miles around. If you are looking for a very, and I mean very quiet time, then stay here, however, if you're looking for something livelier, then avoid this place at all costs
Really nice place. Loads of parking, staff were really nice and food was good and reasonably priced. We ate in their beer garden too. Will definitely be back.
We had a six day stay at The George Country Inn and it was amazing. Lovely comfy room which was spotlessly clean with lots of extras complimentary water toiletries tea and coffee. Great breakfast with lots of choice and the evening meals cooked by Dan the chef were delicious and all freshly prepared. Near to lots of interesting places and towns. Highly recommended
Found this pub by accident as we were lost, lovely place very clean, there is a car park round the back which we didn't realise until we sat out at the the front. We will definitely return for a longer visit
