Wow! Food was amazing!! Lovely location and excellent staff. Thank you for a great stay, added bonus of being able to see the donkeys in their field from our bedroom window Food & drinks: Food was delicious, and perfectly cooked especially the steak
Lovely local pub. Barstaff was incredibly friendly, as were the punters . We were visiting our friend in the area and had a bite to eat. All in all, it is a very lovely place to visit Service: 5/5
We stopped here for a few drinks on our way through. Such a beautiful pub and the most amazing beer garden I have ever seen with a river running along it. The inside looked stunning and rustic. I imagine it's very cosy in the winter. We didn't eat so can't comment on food but the drinks were well priced and very nice. The staff were very welcoming and friendly too. Car parking is at the front opposite.
I can't speak for the rooms but if they're as good as the service they would be ace. Wonderful location great beer ace food, I was even surprised by the staff with a birthday treat, how cool is that Rooms: 5/5
A garden that could not be matched. Great beer, attentive service. Only thing that let it down was the hot beef sandwich which was tough gristly meat. Fries and gravy were both good though. Don't want to dwell too long on the food as the whole experience left me with fond .memories
Probably the best pub beer garden anywhere. Right next to the river under the shade of large willows and the nearby bridge. The food is also excellent, standard pub fare but quality ingredients. It also has a marquee with a stove so that you can sit out even when its cold.
Our second visit and food excellent as previously. This visit enabled us to eat in the nicely appointed garden. A word of warning though if you have mobility issues it would be advisable to eat indoors. Access to the outdoor tables is quite steep.
Attentive friendly staff. My first review was four months ago while briefly stopping but today I stayed for lunch. Again, friendly attentive staff but the food..it did not disappoint. I had steak and ale pie with a good enough portion of varied veg, the chips were nicely done. The pie itself was a superb piece of cooking, I honestly don't think any more meat could have been pressed in without it exploding! Really good short crust and the gravy topped it off with a fine balance. It has to be said, this is now my stop off pub on the way home.
Fabulous location with terraced gardens & seating down to the river. Slow flowing under a yorkshire stone bridge. The fish platters were gorgeous & the food of other diners looked lovely. Very friendly service. Will definitely revisit. We had a lovely lunch & afternoon.
A little disappointing meal. Menu was limited due to warm weather. Fish finger butty was okay, but bread crusty and toasted, which was messy and hard to eat. The skinny fries were too well done and tasteless. The egg mayo & cress sandwich was nice. The staff were really friendly.
