This was a mixed bag stay. On the plus side, the pub itself is really neat, good beer selection and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The location is ideal, right on the Main Street and within walking distance to anything you might want to do. Your overnight booking comes with a complimentary breakfast, which does include kitchen made items. When they have the food in stock, it’s really good. On the flip side, the room we stayed in two twins was immensely dirty. Mold in the shower, hair and dirt in the linens, the fabric head boards were dirty, cobwebs everywhere and just a general unclean feeling. When we brought the sheets and mold to the staff attention, they were minimally concerned. They offered to have the maid come by the next day to clean, but after she did there was very little noticeable difference. For lunch and dinner, the kitchen ran out of most food things by Friday. Overall, it’s a small pub with rooms out the back, probably better suited to sleeping off one too many beers than an extended stay.
Had dinner here and the food was great. The pub is also able to accommodate large groups of people as long as you book in advance. Drinks are a little more than some places in Chichester but not expensive. Accommodation is decent, had a friend stay here shower in their room didn't extend up yo their hight so something o be aware of
I highly recommend this place, I booked about 2 months in advance and phoned ahead to make sure I was still booked in. I arrived to check in after I had a long day at the local race track and was greeted with a smile room was nice and clean, basic but it's a b&b not a hotel. Food was absolutely gorgeous as was the service from start to finish. Really lovely location ran by lovely people with pretty much everything you need within a 10 min walk. Rooms: I don't know about the other rooms but me and my brother stayed in room 5, a twin bed for 1 night and it was all we needed. Nearby activities: Goodwood track Goodwood racecourse Chichester cathedral didn't see Lots of shops Food & drinks: Pub serves amazing food and drink
Stayed on business for 4 nights in accommodation that was never cleaned during the 4 days and towels only changed once when I asked and even then the original towels were left. Bathroom has mold on walls and in the shower itself. Mattress on bed I believe was new when dragons actually existed ! Worse still the sachets of milk and almond milk were all well past their sell by date - I stayed in mid July and the sachets went off in April / May. At breakfast on the first morning I heard the chef explain to the general manager that the food delivery for breakfast had either been pillaged by a seagull or a fox - a packet of cheese was open and cheese spread about - but still cheese was offered at breakfast. The high chairs in the restaurant that a child would use were filthy and in need of disinfectant. Never stay in Room 6 it is a disgrace and should be either condemned or overhauled especially for over £150 a night. How any of the team can think that room is acceptable is beyond me - clean it properly and refit the bathroom and get rid of the mold, fix the toilet seat, refresh the milk etc or have a customer with food poisoning. Location to the high street is the only slight positive. Rooms: Room 6 should be condemned of the owner of the establishment forced to stay in it for a week - sort it out and stop putting the public at risk. Safety: Health and safety nightmare in the room and with breakfast food delivery being left out for the local wildlife to help themselves !
Friendly staff and nice welcome. Good breakfast. Noisy party outside our rooms in the outside seating area who were also staying. Was closing the next day for maintenance and you could tell but good for an overnight stay. Great location and would visit again Rooms: Fine for an overnight stay but a bit faded Walkability: Great location and nearby car park.
popped in for a pint after work, really good selection of beers including Wadworth 6x something I’ve not see on tap in a long time. Really pleasant place to sit and drink garden is nice and staff were all happy to help.Rooms: 5/5

I booked two rooms here at Easter. The price was high considering its a pub in Chichester, but it was Easter weekend and the picutures on both Expedia and the pub's own website looked lovely.Don't be decieved! It was hands down the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. It was dirty, uncomfortable, damp and smelly. The fascilities were cheap and old - like staying in a really bad, very low budget, youth hostel. I didnt want to touch anything and couldn't wait for morning to leave. And I was the lucky one. My mother's room smelt so damp and mould. Her sheets were damp and she woke with a bad cough from the moisture in the air. Rather than sneaking off and leaving a bad review, I went to speak to the manager in the morning to tell him I wasn't happy. He agreed the rooms are bad as did his staff but he had just taken over and was about to do lots of improvements. He said I should contact Expedia - warned me they would take forever to reply, but he would approve a part refund the rooms. I did exactly this. Expedia were very quick, he lied about this, but when I raised the complaint it was refused by the hotel. I queried this explaining that the manager had already approved it and again they refused it. As I explained to the manager it was a real shame because my father lives around the corner and his house isnt big enough for our very big family to stay so if it been nice or even satisfactory, all of us would be staying there very often!
Great place to stay in Chichester, just up the road from the centre. Rooms are simple and just what you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast in the morning as well. 10 out of 10.Rooms: 5/5
Great pub... lovely garden, good food. Pool, darts and jukebox... what else do you need
