First time order on just eat. Normally use Whittakers. When I was young we could go into a local chippy & order scragg ends. I didn’t think they still existed. Fish ok but chip’s absolutely horrendousFood: 1/5
Awful. Greeting and service very good but I’m afraid that’s where the positives end. Decided to try the Friary due to Whittakers in Cheadle being closed for holidays. What a mistake that was. The place was very busy so I’m thinking this must be good. How wrong was I? Everything was overcooked. The chips were dry, overcooked and some were burnt. The “jumbo” cod was also overcooked and far from “jumbo”. Overall I was extremely disappointed and I wont be going back. So, Friary you had your chance and blew it!

We used the friary for my Dad’s wake, fish and chips was his favourite meal and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Great communication, 80 fish and 120 chips with sides thrown in. It went down a treat and was enjoyed by all. Thank you for all your hard work yesterday it really is appreciated.Recommended dishesFish and Chips
First time visiting with our students today.. Considering there were around 15 of us including staff the customer service was incredible! The food was amazing and the staff were efficient and friendly! Thank you so much for making us all feel welcome! Caroline
Just a perfect chippy. Couldn’t recommend more highly. I got a chip barm with haddock and peas was in and out really quickly too. Will dine in next time!Food: 5/5
Totally cocked up the order. Asked for fish and chips and received a burger and chips… Also, the burger had a hair inside. Furious!Food: 1/5
On a visit from Derby to a relative I came to this place for our tea. The fish, chips, peas and curry sauce were excellent, probably the best fish in batter I've had for sometime. We had a sit down service which was not fast but9 food was worth waiting for. Very fresh. Had to visit again today. So impressed by quality, service and price. Cannot recommend this place enough.
I just thought that it was okay really, and the staff seemed quite tired, and indeed stressed so I didn’t feel that much better myself I won’t blame humans for being human… though it really didn’t help that there was a noisy, aggressive, and rude family in here — I was put off before I even ate but I also thought that the food itself was just okay — perhaps it’s better to takeaway than to eat in here if anything. Incidentally, the pie itself seemed unevenly cooked with some parts being hard, and some parts being soft — if I came back then I’d probably get a Holland's rather than a Greenhalgh's pie — how it looked here looks very different to how it’s advertised on the latter’s website — but who’s to blame? Well, don’t ask me
Would just like to thank the owners,and the fabulous team. Ordered from just eat,the app said they had delivered,but they hadn't. Because I have a disability they cooked a repeat order and delivered it themselves,I can't thank them all enough.Food: 5/5
