Absolute disgrace. Booked a table for 6 for a birthday at 18.30. Very limited menu now and 2 of the mains unavailable. Shame as we have been many times but never again. How can you run out of mains at 18.30???? Feel sorry for any other diners due after us. Left and went elsewhere. Why do the management only reply to positive reviews!!!!!!!!

This is primarily a place you go to for food. It is adjacent to a hotel and this is probably its biggest customer base. The food is good and it is normally necessary to book a table on a Friday or Saturday night. A good selection of beers and ciders.

The Fox den is one of the village inn pup franchise of pubs, this means food is cooked to a certain standard and the menu follows the village inn menu. This results in food that is pretty reliable which is cooked to a good standard. The Fox den has a nice ambience with the restaurant divided by a fireplace and various internal walls which keeps the noise from other diners to a minimum. There is a good sized car park and a few tables outside for the warmer months.

Disappointing main course, minus 8 outside but none of the fires were lit (and the radiators were cold). 
Staff were great though so I would go back in the summer if I was passing but I won't be making a beeline for the place... I used to work for Vintage Inns so made a special trip to this place, I was expecting a better experience

The Fox Den has just had a change of management - The improvement has been astonishing. Much better/quicker service along with improved food quality from the kitchen. Suart the temporary Manager has really turned the Fox Den around!
