Excellent! Perfect place to warm up ahead of or after a long walk in the area. The team is very hospitable and the ambiance is cozy. You sort of want to stay a while because it’s so comfortable and well appointed! Menu offers warm delights- do try they mac and cheese! Yumm!
Did a the capital ring walk and ended uo at this pub! It was not very busy. The staff were lovely. We had the chicken salad, the Guinness and steak pie and the fox and duck burger. The Guinness and Steak pie was superb!!! Really recommend. The steak was so tender and gravy was scrumptious! Totally recommend.
The Fox and Duck is an amazing place. It's a warm family pub where the atmosphere is truly something. As soon as you walk in you can feel how warm and cozy it is with a live fire to keep you warm, pub quizzes every Tuesday with big prizes on offer as well as fantastic food that are of restaurant quality. The staff are all lovely and very friendly and can always provide you with impeccable service. I always get the sausage and mash as its incredible taste wise and worth the money. Overall, if you want to have a warm cozy experience with your family or friends then I 100% recommend giving this place a visit.
Would like to share my great experience of booking a space for a large group of about 30 people. From the first inquiry communication from Laura was brilliant and extremely prompt very easy to talk to about any specific needs or questions I had. They were very accommodating to our party, setting aside a large space of the pub and well laid out for our arrival. Service was great while we were there no complaints about that from us. The only thing that could be improved would be if the portion sizes were larger for the price of some of the menu items. Other than that the atmosphere was great would recommend.
Great hospitality! Such a lovely looking pub from the outside that I made a mental note, whilst cycling past, to pop in on my way back home, and the service matched. I only came for a pint but wished I’d been able to stay for more, the service was so lovely. The girl on the door was really bubbly and accommodating, and it made for a lovely experience. Full marks to the management for great recruiting!
We ordered pigs in blankets, siracha chicken sandwich, fries with parmesan and truffle oil and halloumi. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Will definitely visit again!
Amazing staff who made us feel so welcome. Good selection of drinks in a lovely country pub environment. Dog friendly too.

A great place to have a pint, a good meal and enjoy the warmth of the fireplace.
Cozy restaurant and I love this homemade steak chunk & alp pie, highly recommend!
