The old building of which the four courts is, is beautiful. Sadly though the proceedings inside the beautiful old historic building are centered around corruption and the justice system in Ireland is corrupt/broken it needs urgent restoration by the power of God.
I have been working in the Four Courts for 2 years and i really enjoy it
Great Hostel! The staff are all very friendly and can help with any questions and have recommendations. Rooms were clean and fairly priced. Will stay here again if passing through Dublin
No Need for me to enter. Looked like they were renovating
Surprisingly big complex. The Gandon building seems to have been updated very little, maintaining a lot of the original features, giving off a constant sense of the history of each room.
My Dad used to be a wonderful man, or that’s how I remember him. It was a breezy, cold morning on the 15th day of September, 1977. I’d just finished my homework, only being 10 years old at the time. The smell of mince wafted through the house, my mother must have been preparing dinner at the time. My father was in his study, presumably working on one of his “projects” that I was not allowed know about. At approximately four hours fifty seven minutes in the afternoon, a knock at the door vibrated the walls of the house. My mother walked out to the front door, preparing to greet whoever it was. She was rather taken aback when she noticed the familiar green and white hi-vis uniforms worn by members of an Garda Síochána. A conversation between both parties began. My mother was doing a lot of nodding. Then, abruptly, she ran upstairs and grabbed my father. They both closed and locked the door, and that was the last time I ever saw him. My mother told me later that day when she returned that that was the last time I would ever see him. I was confused, and scared, to say the least. In my later years I learned that it was in this building he was sentenced for tax fraud, ten years. He died in prison at the age of 46 due to ill-health. Will change to five star if I can see his skeleton
Cool place. But they should open the restaurant earlier in the morning. I was in at around 8am and had to wait until 9am for a coffee. Even a machine would do the job!
Gorgeous building absolutely worth checking out. Almost all matters dealt with in the complex are civil outside of the appellate manners which are handled here in both criminal and civil matters.
Superb architecture !! Being painfully restored !!
