Spent decades here with dog. Trees, birds, people making movies and episides of Penny Dreadful, Ripper Street etc. Magpie flying academy also goes on. And the "Hungry Tree Special place. Definitely worth a look.
A 'must' destination for a photo if you are visiting Dublin. Such a unique and peculiar phenomenon. You can have a very interesting photo over there
On visit to 14 Henrietta Street. Time to kill so walked grounds of Kings Inns. Sunny but cool March day .... spring in air .... trees beginning to bud .... just to sit in this iconic seat gave a feeling of peace in the centre if a city.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
One of the cooler little sights you can see, though obviously just a brief stop to make for a quick glance and a photo. Well paired with a walk to the old wall or up to the Guinness factory and prison on a longer stroll.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I can’t wait for the tree to grow taller and see if the bench will be lifted I was very tempted to sit on the bench but I was afraid I’ll get in trouble so I didn’t Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Just inside the Road south gate entrance to Kings Inn Park is quirky Dublin attraction. It's a rather unremarkable tree. At first glance it looks like the try it's eating the bench. The tree was planted adjacent to a iron bench dating and over the decades the tree has grown to encompass the bench. Really cool
I mean to think that's a bench that's been swallowed by a tree overtime, it's pretty impressive. We went in a Monday at about midday and it was empty u like the crowded views you might see from other images. Worth a view if your there
Brought some food but the tree kept eating the bench ‍ This is super fun and fascinating at the same time, worth the photo Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The Hungry Tree in Dublin is an 80-year-old London Plane tree that’s currently in the process of devouring a cast iron bench. As the years have passed, the tree has grown, causing it to swallow the parts of the structure that stands in its way. Its gnarled bark now spills over the back of the bench, making it appear as though the seat is being sucked into the tree’s trunk.
Pay attention that on Sundays the park is closed, but you can see the three from outside! Very amazing :
