James Augustine Aloysius Joyce 2 February 1882 – 13 January 1941 was an Irish novelist, poet, and literary critic. He contributed to the modernist avant-garde movement. The statue is a lovely tribute to one of Irelands son's.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Joyce is great for pointing out that an ice age is 4 degrees different to the world I was born into and that current policies have us on track for 3.2 degrees of difference in my lifetime
This statue just off O'Connell Street, stands in tribute to the Irish novelist James Joyce. The statues is made of bronze and is slightly larger than life featuring James Joyce standing cross-legged, leaning on a walking stick and with his left hand in his pocket. The texture of the statue is not smooth, but does make it stand out more than a smooth finish would. Nice statue to get a selfie with.
Monument built in honour of one of Ireland most known writers. From thé attitude and clothing you can deduct already that he was an artist. This statue is located in thé neighbourhood of the famous Spire monument.
There is not much to describe, possibly the most influential writer in Irish literary history. The statue is worth seeing as there are some classic and hidden Irish shops scattered within the street.
The James Joyce Statue is another great art piece in Dublin. Not only does it serve as a photo stop, but also a talking point to discuss James Joyce literary works.
Nice tribute to the famous Irish author
Located on North Earl street leading to the spire on O'connell street. The James Joyce statue brings to life images of past heroes.
I love James Joyce, I love this statue, and I start there my Joyce Tour. Always I find this. It is not possible that the City Council does not prohibit sitting on monuments or statues.
Monument to the Irish writer and poet James Joyce. It attracts attention not so much with monumentality as with realism. In 1999, Joyce entered the list of "100 heroes and idols of the XX century" according to Time magazine. A year earlier, his three largest works were included in the list of "100 Best Novels of the Newest Library" compiled by the American publishing house Modern Library. June 16 - the day when the action of the book "Ulysses" is unfolding - the admirers of the writer celebrate the Bloomsday holiday named after the main character Leopold Bloom. On this day, public readings of the novel take place around the world, and in Dublin fans follow the main characters' routes.
