The Fold

Brilliant place - customer service excellent. I totally disagree with the comment below - pardon? And how many times have you been in this store? This is so annoying even to read. I visited the store 3 times as I'm very busy, work in the city, and mainly use Net a Porter or Matches Fashion. However The Fold have fabulous designs, timeless, very elegant, quality is excellent, and they last long, great to wear. I specially like the folded Japanese like jackets, and simple fitted dresses. Everyone is very helpful and this comments about the advertising policy is just appealing - God it wouldn't even cross my mind. That person should get over herself a bit perhaps?

I so would like to love this place. In spite of the offensively white, stereotypical advertising for a brand that is based in one of the most diverse cities in Europe, the clothing design in great and – when the style suits you – a helpful addition to any working woman's wardrobe. However, the level of service is by no means commensurate to the high-end profile The Fold tries to create for itself, nor with its pricing. Inflexible and inattentive, and incapable of properly catering to international clients. If you live in London and have the time and energy: by all means enjoy their clothing (again: if you have no qualms about the highly questionable advertising policy). If you are an international: think twice, at least. I tried, tried again, and I'm afraid I won't be trying again.

I'm always on the look-out for good quality office clothing which makes me look well put together... you know, the perfect office dress or ensemble which hits the fine balance between professional, striking and good quality. It's not always easy to find a piece of clothing which meets that criteria, which is why The Fold was set up. Offering a range of items from dresses to jackets to trousers and skirts, all of the items I've purchased have been of high quality. While The Fold sells online, you can pop down to their showroom in Clerkenwell to try on the pieces for yourself. They also offer free alterations and will send your order straight to you once this has been done. The clothes may be priced a little on the high side, but, given the quality and care that has gone into each garment, these will last and would truly be good investment pieces.
