I love many things about this pub. First - like so many, it could have become ‘pretentious’, like a typical London suburbia pub. It hasn’t. It could have been over-developed as it expanded - tacky and ‘plastic’. It hasn’t. There’s no feel of “squeezing in food covers solely for covers sake”. All areas have been sympathetically designed, related to use. Plenty of room for drinkers, eaters, couples, families, special events, menageries…….. It could have been poorly or sparsely staffed. It hasn’t been - they’re all a great, friendly, responsive and efficient bunch of happy ‘locals’. It could have been pricey - it isn’t. Drink and food prices are reasonable. There’s a comprehensive and diverse menu to suit all tastes and budgets. Plus, great parking, lots of running and play space for energetic kids and an instructive online presence. So, please don’t tell anyone about this gem. It’ll get overrun and us locals prefer it just like it is!
Simon and the entire team at the Flower Pots - I want to extend my gratitude to you and the entire team for hosting the memorial celebration for our mum in your beautiful oak beamed 'barn'. The space is stunning and you went to so much effort to ensure that the event was a success and all the time we felt like nothing was too much trouble. You are clearly not only a very well run establishment, but also a jolly nice bunch of people. I can't tell you how much this meant to us and how much easier it made a stressful time for us as a family. It was a very memorable afternoon for everyone who attended - in no small part thanks to you all. With the very best of wishes and heartfelt thanks.
On the weekend I visited the Flower Pots Inn with a few friends. We were welcomed with smiles from the lovely staff and one of the barman, Brandon, was polite and friendly, making sure we were comfortable and well looked after. Brandon knew a lot about the beer from the brewery that the pub owns and was able to give recommendations and even let us try a little before we bought. We had such a lovely time and were amazed by the facilities. The service was outstanding. Will definitely be going back!
This was once my local but unfortunately I'm unable to visit as often these days. A real gem of a pub. I can't think of a better way to spend a winter evening than drinking the amazing ales, from their on-site brewery, in front of the open fire....Rooms: 5/5
The Flower Pots Inn is a friendly pub in the quaint village of Cheriton, Hampshire. You can find Chertion by using the A272 or the A31 near New Alresford. The Pots, as its regulars know it, is one of Hampshire's hidden gems. The pub is set in quite a large area with plenty of parking, which includes disabled parking bays. I've been visiting The Pots for many years; I've enjoyed meals and drinks with my family and friends, and I now drop in with my own family and always receive excellent service from their staff. In their own words, the Pots make locally sourced simple food cooked well, which I wholeheartedly agree with based on my last visit. Recently, I enjoyed their excellent Bitter Battered Haddock, Chips and Peas with a pint of their brewed beer. I can't pass up a tasty treat to finish my meal; their Lemon Meringue is terrific. Although I have yet to visit on a Wednesday, I understand that's their curry night - I need to book a table pronto. I'll update this review after I've popped in for a meal. If you visit the Pots, I recommend booking, which you can do by using their website, which I found quick and easy. I recommend a visit to the Pots; you won't be disappointed.
Went to The Flower Pots Inn today for Mothers Day. What a fabulous day we had. Food was outstanding, the team were efficient and friendly and it was great value for money. We will definitely be returning. Thank you everyone for a perfect experience.
Didn't eat here today but a gorgeous picturesque setting. Staff were very friendly, they have their own brewery on site and sell bottles of their own brew that you can take home.
What a shambles. Table booked for 1.30pm on Monday 2nd January which we had to find ourselves. Bar Service only. Queues for bars. Got drinks - no menus due to change of menu from Sunday to Monday. Limited menu. Ordered food. Food arrived at 3pm! Food worse than McDonalds! bbq pulled beef about 1tablespoon inside bun with a small lettuce leaf and slice of tomato. 2 items missing from the order. When questioned staff said always this busy if so why was the service and food so awful they should have been geared up for it.
Friendly bar staff. Roast dinner was ok but the worst cauliflower cheese I’ve ever had! The cauliflower was hard to cut and the sauce was so watery with lumps of mozzarella and no flavour. Unfortunately for me this is what I look forward to the most. My friends ate it but purely as we were paying £15 and it was my friends birthday. I also got a bonus if 1 green bean. Shame as the rest of the menu sounded nice and reasonably priced. I don’t think I would return or recommend. Waiting staff definitely need some training too. The poor young girls don’t know what cutlery to give us with cheese and biscuits!
A great pub. Lovely beer from their brewery. All the food we had was tasty, plentiful, great value. Highly recommended. We booked table online. Was busy.
