Could not fault our visit to the Hinton Arms today. All staff were very friendly, welcoming, attentive and professional. As for the food, there is a fantastic choice, every dish we saw coming out made our mouths water. We eventually settled for the venison rump and calves liver. Both dishes had very generous portions, and tasted fantastic, in fact the venison was the best I have tasted for quite a few years. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.
A charming Country Pub with framed photos of horses and horse riders, etc. There is a huge garden, easily seating 100 people, plus a large car park around the back. There is also a children's outdoor play area with swings and a climbing frame. The pub feels cosy and authentic inside, but the best part is the food! Most of the ingredients and produce are locally sourced, and the portion sizes are very generous. The sausages are from a farm in Alresford, and there was homemade locally sourced venison burger on the menu, too. Also a good selection of local ales, including a golden Hinton ale, which is one of their own beers, and very nice it was too!
The food was delicious and good quality, portions were also generous, asked to replace New Potatoes for dauphinoise and got it! Staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming. The decor and atmosphere is brilliant for a nice little country pub/restaurant... Highly recommend and suggest having food here!!
After visiting Hinton Ampner we went to the Hinton Arms for lunch. A great meal and plenty of it. Very friendly staff. The pub was full - so you need to book - we were in the garden.
Always driven past the Hinton Arms but never visited - today was the day my car took a right turn and I was in the car park!! The flowers outside the pub were amazing - on entering the pub a warm welcome by the staff. Food was excellent, served in quick time and plenty of it, room for dessert - just - and this didn’t disappoint. If you’re near the area and looking for a value for money lunch / dinner the Hinton Arms is the place for you. Worth more than 5 stars in my opinion!!
Stopped here for Sunday lunch, on our way back from Christmas market in Winchester, we hadn't booked, but they had a table free for us, we were greeted with friendly staff and made welcome,we all had lovely roast dinners and pudding. Definitely will come back again. Lovely pub, with good outside space and ample parking. Thanks
Wonderful pub with very extensive menu choices including at least half a dozen ‘today’s specials’. High quality food with generous servings. Good quality local beer .Very friendly welcoming staff and dog friendly. Fully COVID compliant and plenty of parking space. Very convenient for Hinton Ampner National Trust house and gardens.
This is a really good country pub in a beautiful location. I went here for food with some family members and wasn't disappointed. A great roast dinner at good prices with friendly and professional service. I've stopped here on a ride with a mate before as well and it happened to be on one of the previous vintage vehicle meets, well worth a look! Just been to 2022's classic vehicle show Still a great pub!
Beautiful food and good portions for a good price. Been several times and the food is always up to a high standard in a lovely country pub with a nice size garden. Recommend you book ahead as always busy
Lovely light lunch. Stopped here on the off chance and they fitted us in. We only wanted a light lunch so had meat and vegetable broth which was homemade and came with a warm cob roll. Delicious! Service was excellent, friendly and speedy. Toilets were very clean with lovely extras.
