Great food and friendly staff. We visited here one Saturday evening. Staff were very accommodating when we booked at short notice - even reshuffling the tables/booking to fit our reservation in. Food and drinks were both well presented and clearly done to a high standard. Our waitress was knowledgeable when answering our questions about the menu. Having ordered Kumar's authentic curry I would recommend trying this, as it is truly excellent. Desserts were sensible portions to round off the meal. We look forward to visiting again!
We had a really pleasant experience here. Good was great and the waitress was very friendly and chatty. Would recommend. Worth noting that parking outside is very limited so we had to park up the road.
Best Sunday roast I've had in a very long time. The staff were really friendly and accommodating when we walked in without a reservation and close to the end of service. Chef is clearly passionate about the quality of ingredients and therefore the standard of food his kitchen produces. Crispy potatoes, soft Yorkshire Puddings, delicious gravy. The beef was, apparently others in our party had that, soft, tasty and cooked to perfection. The nut roast was very good. Would definitely drive the 1.5hrs from where I live for that meal again. Maybe when it's warmer, the sun is shining and we can take advantage of the garden by the water!
Excellent light lunch. I went for the fish cake starter, my daughter a portion of fries and 17 year old son the lemon tart...yes an odd mix but we each got the bit we wanted. All were perfectly cooked. Will repeat with my wife for a proper meal next time. Good garden view of the lake if you get the right table although in summer it's easy as a garden overlooking the water.
Lovely old pub on the edge of Alresford by the lake. No car park but there are plenty of spaces nearby. Good beer, good food and lovely views of the lake
Fantastic pub really friendly staff, The food was great from the pub classics we had and I'd say its the best I've had , Fantastic beer from FFF brewery, its dog friendly with a good sized garden.
We visited The Globe on Saturday lunchtime and we were lucky enough to get a table without booking in advance. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. Service was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the house speciality malt bread that we were given while we waited for our food. We only had light bites on this occasion - 3 of us had the Pumpkin Velouté which was delicious. The parmesan and truffle fries were very tasty too! The main meal choices were very varied and looked great. It was lovely to have full table service in a pub and also fabric napkins rather than paper. The only thing to point out is that there is no car park at The Globe but there is plenty of free parking nearby. Definitely worth a visit!
Took my dad for Sunday lunch, to celebrate his birthday. We all had the beef roast and it was delicious. Excellent food and quick, friendly service too. The views out onto the water are beautiful. Plenty of parking up on the high street too.
Had a tasty afternoon Xmas eve lunch! Managed to squeeze us in! Great pub, warm, friendly and busy! The staff were really nice, welcoming and friendly! Great location, great food and drink and service was will be back for sure in the new year! Happy Xmas The Globe! X
Decent place, went here before the watercress line and the food was good. Felt the starters were a little bit arty farty. But nice staff great main great pudding.
