Great traditional pub serving great food, a short distance out of Holmfirth. Portions are very large so choose starters carefully. My goat's cheese starter was excellent. Only a couple of ales on tap which was disappointing but a wide choice of gins for my wife. There is a car park at the rear and the pub is fully accessible with a ramp up to the door.
The welcome and service at the Fleece were top. And the food was fantastic. We had a sharer meal but buy it was well cooked very very tasty. I have no doubt we will be back here at some point soon. And it's dog friendly.
Only called for a snack & drink to refuel, whilst out on a bike ride. Choc flapjack was awesome and hit the spot, washed down with a nice little latté, which was distinctly average from a machine where the young lad just pressed a button. Friendly service with a smile and a bar stool with a view to sit and refuel, was grateful for the facility. Only £3:75 for a small lattè and choc flapjack, so reasonably priced, will call again Thank you Fleece Inn.
Enjoyed dinner after the walk on the Moors! Beef and lamb was delicious, but beef gravy tasted turnipy! Not for my liking, but I am sure other people have various taste! Lamb gravy was delicious! Kept scooping it out from my boyfriend's plate!! Deserts absolutely outstanding! Could not decide which one was better! Service was great, very polite and knowledgeable staff! Thank you and coming back!!
after 3 years gap, we visited again. the meals we ordered were delicious and in generous portions. food serves all day now, no more 2 hours for lunch. We arrived the Fleece Inn 1:30pm on Tuesday, a few dishes were already sold out or down to last portion. The beautiful surrounding areas and a short distance to Holmfirth, make it a popular place at peak district. The food are in generous portions and delicious.
Really pleased we stopped here for lunch on a wet Saturday day trip. We had sandwiches which were delicious and of course we had 'Yorkshire' portions. The staff were really friendly and our drinks and food were served quickly with a smile. We'll worth a visit.
Wonderful country pub. The food here is amazing! If you get chance to have the pie you won't be disappointed. Plenty of event nights. If you are just walking by you can sit in or out for a drink and a snack. The pantry shop is brilliant. A really community Gem.
Loved it. Went for a drive and a pint and stumbled on the Fleece Inn. Really nice atmosphere.
Top notch pub food served all day by friendly staff. Good sized portions of brisket special and Scampi sampled. Only criticism, the twice cooked chips , not crisp and crunching, need the third dip !
Went for lunch with my walking group on a Tuesday. A sign of a good pub is how busy it is. The Fleece was packed with people in for food. The menu and special board covered food for everybody at not expensive prices. Beer good, food good, equals a great lunch.
