Absolutely loved the place. Excellent value, facilities, rooms, food and staff excellent. Could do with very slight improvement on room cleanliness but would most definitely stay here again and recommend it. Lovely atmosphere and decor, staff extremely friendly and attentive, restaurant food was gorgeous, no need to eat anywhere else !! Large bar with massive choice of drinks. Location couldn't be better. Rooms: Lovely rooms with everything you could need. Slight improvement on cleanliness but would not put me off staying at all. Food & drinks: Excellent!!!! Absolutely gorgeous food and large choice of drinks. Staff lovely and very attentive. Noteworthy details: Will definitely be back. Don't hesitate to stay AND eat here !!!
We didn't use the hotel facilities, just the restaurant. The food was absolutely lovely. We all had a main and a starter and a non alcoholic drink. It was approx £25 per head. The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were warm and friendly. We sat relaxing until The South gig was about to start next door we were avoiding the football game. Will definitely return to try more of the menu.
Quick overnight stay as going to a function and didn’t want to drive home. We stayed in Room 27 with the balcony over the front and absolutely loved it. Night staff were brilliant when we came back like naughty school kids late. Breakfast was amazing and the hotel went over and above re my lactose intolerance and gluten free diet. We will certainly stay again and will request this room, there isn’t anything we could fault. We will certainly be back.
Stayed for 2 nights, had breakfasts and evening meal. Food extremely good! Comfortable, well equipped room. Friendly, helpful staff and very welcoming. Very dog friendly too. A wonderful base for our visit to 'Last of the Summer Wine'.
Stopped for a drink, served straight away- however quality of beer not great and so overpriced. You can get a pint across the road in a even better atmosphere for £2 less. £6 a pint - too overpriced. Was going to have dinner - they have priced themselves out this occasion. Tables dirty and sticky - yes they wiped - chairs damp also - but you can tell with the absence of customers on a Friday night - not great!
Brilliant pub, decent food, nice atmosphere and lovely location. Room was tidy, well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable and warm. Will definitely stay again - no hesitation. Rooms: Clean, well equipped and a very comfortable bed
Had an excellent lunch, the menu is more adventurous than most. The Belly Pork had delicious gravy I'd love the recipe for! Charming and attentive service.Service: 4/5
Didn't stay, but organised my sister in laws baby shower here and the staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much ask. Would definitely recommend it as a venue for small-scale events - we had a wonderful time.
Holmfirth is a Nice Friendly Place, WATCH OUT, For the Service Charge, Only Spotted it when I got Home, S.C, Charges are some time's used to boost employee's Low Pay. Seated @ an uncleared table while the other side was unused, Once cleared & wiped the table was Sticky. The lady had a very Long face & looked very Bored with her job, Very Small Portions for sure, Just count the chips on the plate, fish & Chips 12, off Drinks Expensive, Finished up Snacking in The Village as we walked Round, Need We Say More.? Love Holmfirth, Walkability: A nice village to walk round,
Had Christmas meal menu as part of lunch. Was great generally but the fish although grilled was a bit dry for my liking. Other than that service was good and staff were pleasant.
