The Fetherston Arms

About

The Fetherston Arms is a friendly welcoming pub set in the heart of the Eden Valley. Our food is homemade and we rotate our ales regularly. See you soon !

Story

The Fetherston Arms is located in 'The Square, Kirkoswald', a charming historic village within the Eden Valley. Kirkoswald is a picturesque once-thriving market town, where you can still see the small cobbled market place and some very fine Georgian buildings.

The food was fantastic, went for a pie (chicken, leek and ham), although simple it was done to an extremely high standard. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were ample ales to drink and a pool table too. We were with young children and a dog, all were welcome. I would highly recommend the Featherston Arms.

Stayed at nearby Mains Farm and visited here for tea, and we were not disappointed. Rather than buy a big main, I opted for the garlic mushrooms (on the starter menu) to come as a main, with a side of onion rings. The portion sizes were great, no way could I have managed the mushrooms and a main! Best I had ever tasted on both counts. Not greasy either! My partner went for the steak, mushroom and ale pie and said it was also the best he had eaten. Kids had chicken bites and chips, all hot and wonderfully presented. Fairly priced at around £6-7 for my mushrooms, £2-3 for onion rings and around £12 for the steak pie. Very enjoyable meal, we will certainly visit again.

Really good meal. Choice not as good as it could have been, but good food nonetheless.
